With money & fabrication skills, you can make anything work, but having been in the restoration/restomod industry for years, you will pay a shop $1000's of dollars to modify sheetmetal to fit another model. I do see A10 510's come up for parts here on Ratsun & on the Facebook pages every once in a while, but patience will be your friend!

I believe it recently sold again. Bill must have had it at least 10 years ago, cuz I haven't been back to Gingerman since I left 10+ years ago............. Bill also has/had a burgandy 67 Cougar & a 510, both vintage race cars.............don't know if he still has either..........??

Did you ever see the orange Horst Q GTV racing in Michigan? A buddy in Holland owned it for a few years, I saw it at Gingerman..............was cool! 😎

@Bananahamuck if you are flying in to DIA, you will cruise westbound right across i70 to get to Lakewood on north side of Denver. Downtown Denver is kind of a filthy shithole these days, much more crime & LOTS of homeless. I am in Arvada, nice northern suburb of Denver, just north of i70. Lakewood is 10min away from me in Arvada. I forget what Datsun's you have, but I'm a 510 guy, with 1500sq ft hobby shop space FULL of Datsun stuff & with a mini fridge WITH BEER. If planned out, I can likely get a handful of local Datsun knuckleheads to stop by with their cars on whatever Saturday it is that you are here. My brother, bless his soul, flat out will not discuss the goings on of today ie politics etc. He always says "Can't you just love everybody?". When we get together with an old HS buddy, Paul & I are conservative, brother Rich again, wears his blinders all the time. So what does a good brother & HS buddy do? Yes, we attempt to start conversations with my brother, to watch him squirm!! It is sad how closed minded he can be with his blinders on!! 😝

I will have a good USED plug/terminal, sniped off of a wire harness with a length of wire. I have 510 & Z car, I think both of which were yellow wire with a stripe, I think a white stripe. Regardless, I will have something that works. Vintageconnections should have NEW, but they do NOT offer applications............you must go online & find what you need.

I hate stories like this & feel for you! 🙄 😒 I have seen many "horrible experiences" in my 40 years of classic cars & working in the classic car parts industry. The last shop where I worked for 8 years, specialized in Z cars. We would get lots of calls for work, offer up a VERY ROUGH ESTIMATE, most would balk & look elsewhere. Some of those guys would end up in a similar situation as you. My point is, it is rare to find a really good mechanic/restorer advertising in a newspaper, on craigslist etc. They are there for a reason! Word of mouth & restored cars to prove it are the keys to getting good work!! Good to great restoration work is extremely expensive! We would start at $20k+++++++++++ to simply go thru the fuel system & hydraulics............minumum! A full on restoration could easily reach $60-80k+++++++, mostly depending on the ACTUAL condition of the car. That shop where I worked, just had a guy bring in a 1970 240Z "Series 1" that he paid around $10k for a few years back. HE told us it was a good solid car. They agreed to a $60-80k restoration. Once the car was stripped down for media blasting, it reared its grossly ugly head!! It was a rotted midwest car that had been HORRIBLY restored, with horrible patch welding & TONS of bondo!! They had to reassess & told the guy it would take another $20k minimum in metal work. Instead, I found him a much better rolling body shell with title for $3500.............he bought it, has not picked it up yet!! Fingers crossed!! PS I found my cousin an exact copy of the 1974 260Z that he had bought NEW in Illinois! This car has 43k original miles, CA car, same year, same early small bumpers, same color & SAME ALUMINUM SLOT MAG WHEELS! He bought the car for $45k, had us go thru the fuel & hydraulic systems for reliability & loves it!!

Is your 510 4dr a USA spec car with independent rear suspension OR a Mexican spec car with leaf springs? I would expect that the rear wheel cylinders (RWC) are different.........?? Worst case scenario, if USA spec IRS, I will have USED wheel cylinders (might be factory OE or early aftermarket) & I MIGHT have some NOS RWC rebuild kits (just rubber bits). See if you can buy rebuild kits & PM me what you might need..................

In case you aren't quite clear.............oil around spark plugs while tightened IN PLACE, can be as simple as a leaking valve cover gasket. It just runs down the side of the cyl head & collects around the plugs. If you are ALSO oil fouling the plugs, then it is likely an internal engine wear issue. As stated above, try the rope in the spark plug holes in order to change out the valve stem seals FIRST, cuz it does not involve rebuilding or replacing the engine! FYI by stuffing the rope in the spark plug holes & HAND CRANKING the engine until it brings that piston all the way up in the cylinder bore, you are holding the vales UP IN PLACE from the inside (with the bundled up rope in the combustion chamber), so you can replace the valve seals under the valve cover. You will need to remove all of the rocker arms, lash pads & springs ONE AT A TIME............KEEP THEM IN EXACT ORDER, EXACTLY WHERE THEY CAME OUT OF!!!!!!!!! If you mix up the rocker arms & lash pads, you will need to re-set all of the rocker arm to cam lash specs!!! Also replace the spark plugs with NGK copper plugs, as mentioned before! If new valve seals do not work, then you likely have worn and/or broken piston rings, which requires a full engine rebuild or replacement.

I just talked to an older Canadian customer today, more conservative than anything else...............he said the politics there are just as bad as here, if you pay attention to it! Trudeau is as bad as Newsom, in my perspective...............

Please no offense, but these are the kinds of "conspiracy theories" that even I sometimes think about! I run them thru my brain, consider the possibilities, discuss some with my girlfriend (she too), but I can't discuss with most of my closer friends! My brother is OFF LIMITS to off the wall discussions like this, which is sad. I like to keep an open mind, in case something like this DOES come to the surface. And yes, I FIRMLY believe that the left has/had some massive agenda & Trump rocked the living crap out of that agenda, by getting voted in.
