My first memory of riding in a pickup was when my mother borrowed my grandfather's new Ford F1, like this one to move. We were heading to our apartment to load up to move to our first house when the whole rear axle came out from under it! Ford wouldn't repair it, and my grandfather's lawyer said Ford's warranty wasn't worth the paper it was written on. He never bought another Ford after that, even though he had always owned nothing but Fords before that.
