    Tonneau on a truck

Is there a hoop or stay design that has no permanent point attachment to the bed?

    Tonneau on a truck

I have been considering fabricating a tonneau cover for my 520. My requirements are: Vinyl foldable material, no hard, wood or fiberglass. No permanent modification to the truck bed, therefore; no snaps or fasteners holes drilled. No attached header rail (placed at the bed nearest the cab). No support rails. My thought is to use a bungee loop (http://www.sailrite.com/Shock-Cord-Cover-Clip-Black). This would allow the tonneau to be attached to the factory truck bed loops. I do not know if the header panel of the bed would provide sufficient tension of the fabric when the tonneau is connected to the three sides of the bed. My inspiration for this project is: https://www.utecoversdirect.com.au/shop-tonneau-cover/soft-covers/custom-bunji-cord-tonneau-cover-suits-alloysteel-ute-trays/ Please post your thoughts or experiences on installing a noninvasive tonneau. Thanks, Keith
  5. If you curb a powder coated wheel you have to sent it out to be refinished. Consider: http://www.vhtpaint.com/high-heat/vht-wheel-paint/ or http://www.finishmaster.com/prod/assets/400_618_PlastiKote_Wheel_Paint.pdf Keith
  6. If you decide to an engine swap please keep me in mind for your old J13 engine parts. Keith
  7. If you bore it out to 1500 then consider http://motorpower.net/pricing/j15.htmlfor parts. Try to keep it close to original. Keith

  13. The Nikki is a good carb for the anemic J13 engine. If you buy a used carb from someone you do not know for certain it is in good condition. Send your Nikki to royze.com for a rebuild. Keith
  14. Charlie, Could you post a photo of the piece you have, that way I can get started on installing the fender. Thanks, Keith

    J15 seals?

The rope seal was part of the gasket kit I provided to the engine rebuilder. His comment was "the rope seal will eventually leak". https://www.flickr.com/photos/53116286@N07/albums/72157624963500879 Keith
