Pull knob all the way out. Grab the shaft with some needle nose pliers. Then push in on the knob and twist....

This dizzy was pulled from my daily driver 510 w/L16 yesterday. Dizzy has the pertronix unit installed and comes with coil,ballast resistor,cap and rotor. Everything you need to convert to electronic ignition. Install,connect one wire,set timing and go!

Yeah, the top can be welded back on quite easily. I don't plan on tossing anything soon so if your ever out this way or you know someone driving through here , let me know. I think I only need the rockers so you can have whatever else is remaining.

I have an extra 320 cab/shell. I'm keeping a few parts from it like the rockers. I can't remember what else I need from it. I cut the roof off at the base of the pillars though.

Your visegrips will work on this? Seriously folks. Invest in some sort of theft deterrent. $100-200 is nothing when compared to losing your wheels,stereo system,broken glass, etc.... The "alphalock" clamps on your wheel. The other deal locks/disables your brake. I had a piece of square tubing added to it so it disables both your brake and clutch pedal. I purchased this stuff after someone tried stealing my 521. Good thing I had disabled it only days before. Fvck Tweeker Thieves!!!

I took a quick look for mklotz70's write up but couldn't find it. Maybe he has it saved on his CPU somewhere.

It's a basic matchbox dizzy like the ones from a 1979 620 or 1981 720's. It's the dizzy most people use when going EI on their L series engines. I'm pretty sure I have an extra if you have trouble finding one. You'll find them on here from time to time as well.

I used one of these. Just swap the distributor drive at the bottom with the one on your truck. I don't think the pedestal is needed. I did the swap a while back but i ended up selling the distributor since I'm probably going to drop an L16 in the truck.

Yes. It can be done. I did it to my 320. You have to use parts from both dizzys to make it work. You have to swap the distributor drive and use the J series dizzy timing plate iirc. Mklotz had a write up on it. That's where I got the idea. Edit-I did this mod on an E series engine but I think the J series are pretty similar. I have both the E and J series engines but it's been forever since I've messed with them.
