  1. Scott from Scott's old rubber just got back to me and they do not offer that seal.
  2. the highest of fidelity! I bet this system sounded pretty bad ass back in the day, its all Clarion.
  3. I have read some of you guys say in past threads to avoid the Thai rear window seals, for the 510s for example, well how bad are they? cause I am low on options for reinstalling the rear window in my 1984 maxima 910. the thailand one is available for $90 shipped what style weatherstrip do the 510s and trucks take anyway? is it the same "s" type as the 910? has anyone used universal S type and fit it to the back glass? I was told you cant do this because of the tight corners. any ideas?
  4. well I sent them an email and I am waiting for a reply, I am seriously wondering how bad the thailand rubber could be..... I would just buy s type weather strip but, I am afraid that I wont be able to get it to work due to the tight corners, I could really use some expertise here......
  5. I have full polyureuthane bushings in my Honda, they are the biggest improvement in handling I have ever made, and most of the bushings I replaced were in great condition still, except teh compliance bushings. the problem is that when they design cars, they make it so that the bushings move to do things, like add or subtract toe so your car doesnt go off the road ass backwards, for example, in full cornering speed in a honda civic EP3, the wheelbase lengthens by up to .75" on the outside. cause of the bushings stretching. my car has never handled so good as when I got rid of the rubber, and when I did that it wasnt even 8 years old. as the saying goes "if a car goes off the road front first, its the drivers fault, if it goes off the road ass first, its the manufacturers fault"
  6. your in Lancaster?, no shit, I grew up in New Holland!! Ahh home sweet home, ill move back someday I think, nice build man!
  7. I just sent them an email, they dont list nissan or datsun on their site.
  8. so of course nobody makes the gasket for the rear glass, and neither does nissan have one sitting in a basement somewhere. my options are nil, I could go with the Thailand weatherstrip, but Im reading all you guys say it shrinks, what else can I do? really need some help here. edit: Nissan still makes the part, but Nissan USA cant get it. I went through Nissan Europe and they ordered it from Japan.
  9. updates for the night: well, the headliner needs to come the hell out, and to get it out in one piece that means glass is coming out first. I dont feel comfortable to do the front one enough yet..... all safe in one piece on the rear seatback
  10. Theres a link on page one for a good clutch line, if that doesnt work then just search 240sx clutch line. the one I got was just a 48" long -4 an line with a 90 deg. end, and I got -4 an fittings that fit the master and slave cylinder. I see now that alot of places make carpets for the maxima, wish I had done the research before, oh well no matter, I guess im gonna become an expert with an upholstery needle, or get pissed and buy a carpet!!! :hmm: ;)
  11. whoops, I meant heater core, no its brass im pretty sure, it was like $69.00 at autozone and they had it in stock, its skinnier, but it fits in there perfect, and the valve is in the exact right position, same as the original, which was one of those brass/plastic deals.
  12. well im not sure about everyone else but I love G20's they are the USDM version of the Nissan Primera, which is a great car, your car has the SR20DE engine in it, which has amazing potential. as long as youlike old datsuns, and you love nissan, and tuning cars, i think your welcome here. hell, especially since alot of members have your engine in their cars!, allthough it is the rear wheel drive version unlike yours. any chance you have the 5 speed?
  13. seems i can get the headliner made for 110, and new black seatbelts sewed for $65, now if i can just find non blue seat belt buckles, I wonder is I could use the seatbelts from a different model....... OMG i got it, literally as I was typing this post, I will use the buckles and from a different model and use my retractor!!!!, brilliant!, now if i can just restore the retractor to "snap back " status i will have some awesome new seatbelts, maybe I can even find ones that say Nissan. edit: if i do it correctly, and find good ones, i wont even need to have the rears re-webbed. making this venture even cheaper!, we love cheap.
  14. any chance you know where I can find a set of electric fender mirrors?
  15. the only thing i dont like about the first gens is that they have solid rear axle
  16. whats your plan for dealing with the ball joint angle?
  17. some of the real goodies pre 1974 style loop carpet, sexy, i love it I love the look of this micro perforated vinyl on older cars, so we will be doing the headliner in this. laying carpet is a BITCH!! suggestions always welcome.
  18. started restoring the dash, or i should say, completely rebuilding it from scratch with the metal frame stripped. I didnt take many pics of this, i had no idea what i was doing but it turned out good the door panels were also in dire need of as refreshening, I used black cruiser suede, and grey vinyl, the same vinyl is on the dashboard the blue plastic pieces will be changed to graphite color as i am de-blueing the interior. more de-blueing, done with SEM plastic paint, really amazing stuff, all the interior plastic trim is gonna be done in this, and hopefully I can find grey factory armrests at some point. [/url ] looks a little blue cause the light sucks in here.
  19. mega updates, I have removed the dash and decided to restore the entire interior and rubber. heater box removed for restoration, thing is nasty, this is the main thing that made me start this project from this direction. gotta have AC in AZ..... dash parts, all in bad, faded, and/or cracked shape restored cleaned and disenfected heater box, with new radiator core, 1997 nissan truck, fits almost identical. new dash pad cut and fitted with insulation and installed
  20. quarter windoes sorry, not vent windows.
  21. yes i know, i was just messing with you back man, the graphic is cause for tons of amusement.
  22. actually contrarty to popular belief, all materials in the know universe can be compressed. water at the bottom of the ocean is compressed, much denser than water at the top of the ocean. "If there were a material that is completely incompressible the speed of sound through that material would be infinite. It is generally accepted by physicists that nothing travels faster than c (the speed of light in vacuo)" i get a good chuckle out of people who claim stuff cant be compressed, like brake fluid for example, its hard to compress, not cant be compressed, al liquids are compressible totally different is bringing a static liquid under pressure (like paint or water in an aerosol can, the aerosol is pressurizing the can but doesnt have the power to actually compress the liquid, even to the slightest degree), not the same as compressing the liquid itself
