  1. Ahh I see, I didnt know which came first. Its odd because its on the toyota side, lol.
  2. LOL You would need the MAF and ECU from the L28, other than that all the wiring should be the same. But the 2.4 will rev higher with the right setup/cam, and a good tune on something like Megasquirt, that will probably alone get you over 130-140 to the wheels, then if you do some stuff like a 240sx throttle body, larger (older) intake manifold with less webbing, and an exhaust header, and cat delete/cat back, then I can easily see this engine putting out over 155 hp, then you mess with some dialing in of different things and maybe deck the head and you should be damn close to your goal. Not sure how serious you are about building the engine. Mine just rolled over 190,000 miles today, I would consider building it, but I dont want to do a full rebuild on it until I have it totally out of the car and the L28 in the car. I am dropping an L28ET in mine when the opportunity arises, but that will be long down the road. My L28ET already has the ARP rod bolts installed :w00t:.
  3. for long rides I like the original Hayabusas. So much awesome for highway cruising. And as wierd as this sounds, I love Goldwings, those things are so nice, but at my age I would prefer an ST1300 for touring. I feel like you gotta be kind of old to ride a Goldwing.
  4. Lookin good man, idk how I missed this. If you havent seen my restoration thread, you should. These engines will put out 165, I can virtually guarantee it, you will have to do a lot of mods (nothing major I would imagine), and you WILL have to get a stand alone, but they will do it. How did the windshield go? Mine lived in AZ its whole life without a crack or anything and then last year when the PO was driving it, bam, chip right in my direct line of sight. So now I gotta replace it. My blower motor had literally that exact same issue, on that exact same wire on the switch. Graytech (Chris Gray) has a lot of good info, you can email him for more if you have questions. He no longer has the Maxima though, it was sold several years back and he is into Audis now.
  5. She is really driving quite beautiful, except the FS5W71B, it is shifting like a box full of marbles. lol. No, seriously, it makes a lot of nasty noises unless your in 3-4, lol, 5 is okay, but makes a low whirring sound once up to speed. That and the springs/shocks are literally older than I am, lolololol. Next up after the title fuck up is handled?=Suspension. The fun stuff. Gotta get this thing handling so well that George Fury could drive it.
  6. No pics on this page, that means there is a problem!! Look at this gross ass timing cover Timing cover+ coolant neck held together literally with cardboard and JB weld. Here is is all apart, The grill was a PITA to get out, just because of old ass hardware, other than that its a piece of cake. I installed a new water pump of course, thermostat was still good(new when I bought it), one of the local guys hooked me up with a new coolant neck, and then I installed the radiator. And here she is out in the world!! She just hit 190,000 miles today!! Still purrs like a kitten, runs smooth and very strong, original engine as far as I can tell.
  7. HAHA, yes I did. Seems like you might be right though. Here there are only two counties that emissions, Maricopa (phoenix) and Tucson, basically whewre like %70 of the population live. But you have to do emissions if you are newer than 1967 You can get around it if you have a garage, which is a requirement for classic car insurance, and then you are exempt from emissions for having that. All cars, even brand new, have to do emissions here if my understanding is correct. Hell, here all you have to have under the hood is a charcoal canister, takes literally 3 minutes to put in and take out and you will pass, haha.
  8. My favorite Ghostbuster is dead. RIP Harold Ramis.

  9. Unfortunately not, CA still holds the worst there. All you have to do is emissions once every two years here, nothing much past that, if you have OBDII its a guaranteed pass if your engine is running correctly and you dont have any check engine light. My honda could be 600hp turbo and it will pass with flying colors every time in AZ, as long as it has OBDII. But to require this of every vehicle before you can make it your property is appalling.
  10. Yeah, that basically covered around %75 of what I spent building it completely by myself. And redesigning the entire frame for track use per Yoshimura's Japanese race specifications. The more I think about it, the sicker I get frankly.
  11. Yeah I wonder why they did them like that originally, the I6s (TC24) were all/are all on the left side right? I imagine the gear driven cams will be a bit noisy too. They probably take less power to run with that gearing setup though.
  12. HAROLD RAMIS< NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. GSXRs are pretty fast bikes, and they are mostly all very reliable too. The 1100 is a beast
  14. I suppose I could imagine a job like that, but in construction?? wht do they have you doing? or do the conditions just suck ass?
  15. The 910 is alive and not legally on the road because of title paperwork fuck up, Now I have to jump through hoops to register, or even own, my car.

  16. Except it doesnt have a bad joke for a valve train setup. No floating rocker arms would be coming from O.S. lolol. Easier tuning, similar power output. Glad they extended this project to the inline 4's
  17. That is pretty ridiculous, I kind of want that AC pump for some reason
  18. People that start projects and then they absolutely never finish them and get caught up in life are actually substantially more common though. Also being an asshole directly gets you zero points Synchro. "shut the fuck up, all you do is talk and fuck up cars" come off like a twelve year old, not an adult man.
  19. Thats what I paid for my KZ1000 MKII, $200 I wish I had not sold that bike, I only got $1800 for it non running, not that it matters with a MKII. Rarity considered, dumbest thing I have ever done
  20. No, just vehicles, its not any less ridiculous at all. I meant "make something your property" as vehicles.
  21. Yup, arizona state law now says that you can not make something your property unless it passes emissions. Regardless if you want to register it on the road or not. This counts for all cars of any sort, so if you want to have a title for your race car, which will never see a road ever, it has to pass emissions. Gotta love how government works FOR you right?
  22. Because then my title wont match the VIN still, and the title VIN still wont match the title and the Emissions paperwork VIN wont match the title, so I can not do wnything at all until this is corrected, I can not do ANYTHING AT ALL WITH THE CAR! In Arizona you can not make something your property until it passes emissions. Emissions must be passed to transfer your title. I have been unable to transfer the title untile I had this under a temp tag and insure it, to drive it to emissions, which it passed, but they took the VIN off the car VIN plate. So the emissions paperwork is correct to the car. But according to AZ, the car doesn't exist, because this fuck up has been ongoing for over 10 years(how long MVD keeps their paperwork), so whoever last had the car under the correctly titled VIN is no longer in the records, and the last owners over 10+ years have been going off the wrong paperwork, and wrong number. Heres where it gets crazy, it still comes up as a Maxima to my insurance company with the wrong VIN.
