  1. Did this, fuel is definitely the problem. So why would it not be injecting?
  2. So my Maxima is down, it will not start. I was having an issue with the TPS so it was running like crap, I fixed that, then started it, it sounded like it was running good, I reved it up once it got some oil pressure and it revved fine, then it shut off, now it wont start. I am a bit lost here I have checked a lot of the EFI section and come up with nothing and it has plenty of spark. It does not seem like its getting fuel...... Anyone have any ideas?
  3. So I am pretty proud of myself today, I setup the whole machine with new fixtures, tools, and WCS G56 offsets for this part all by myself with no supervision or help. This is the first time I have done this completely unsupervised and by myself. I am entry level still, so this is a big step for me. Machined on our newest HAAS VF2, I LOVE that machine, it sits next to our oldest (1996) VF2 (we have 3, 2 from 2010 or newer) the VF3 is way more awesome though, lol. Even the old HAAS are nice to work on, really great control. I normally run between 3 and 5 machines in our shop by myself, but I havent been setting them up completely by myself until today. But yesterday I learned how to setup 4th axis offsets and fixtures. New floorboards for Harley Davidsons.
  4. Are you telling me that you also have a working half mast antenna Ernie? That is awesome, I was thninking I could be one of the very few that probably do now. The procedure is that it needs to hif half on the way up or down right? As in you should not keep it in full up and just turnon the radio, it should go to half, then you should switch it to full. correct? I did that when I loaded the new mast but I dont think I put quite enough grease in so I am gonna do it again.
  5. And before I get asked by someone "couldnt you just use the antenna from a _____" NO, NO you cannot. These antennas are designed specifically for these cars, I am not sure it will even fit a 280zx. there has to be a special tip on the end of the wire and a specially shaped gromet on the wire, I tried 2 other antennas and none were long enough, or the right shape cable.
  6. I have a new toy on mymaxima, I dont know if anyone else has one of these functioning anymore, but I took the hit and bought the only antenna mast I could find. it cost me $70 shipped from eBay and it was worth every penny. Because now I have a functioning half mast antenna. the switch on the console works and the timer controls it and it does this: Half Full, like 9 feet high, lol.
  7. This is what I will be doing shortly when I go MegaSquirt. If I cant fix my current running like dogsh*t issue, its going to be getting done very shortly........And a 60mm 240sx TB.
  8. Dude, Fuck yes, thats all I have, that was too awesome.
  9. And proving my point that money doesnt come with brains or taste. The fact is that in reality I was the one laughing my ass off in my "cute" (its cute as F%(K by the way, thank you) Honda Civic. Because if your trying to race in a straight line with less than a pro stock drag car (especially on the street) your a douche bag with no skill or talent that I care about. Come try that shit with your 4000lb mercedes on the track and you will regret that shit real quick vs most "cute" little Hondas that I know.
  10. In other news I went to do a valve adjustment today and found all the timing guides have disintegrated and flown through the valve cover are , with me mostly finding it filling the head bolt socketed caps with disintegrated timing pieces. New ITM kit is on its way here, but I have to drive it like this until it comes!!!!!!! The timing chain is floppin around in there like a jump rope, lmfao! When it comes in this might be a good pooprtunity to put my 280zx turbo oil pump on.
  11. This is all really good info guys, Thanks for adding it to the build thread, I am happy to see others getting these 30 year old beasts running and handling well. Thanks. I cant weld worth a shit. I would rather have a professional do it.
  12. last night some dingleberry in some kind of AMG pulled up next to me ( in the Civic) and then gunned it making roaring snarling sounds. Now while I do like Mercedes........If I owned ANY Mercedes, I wouldnt be pulling up next to Honda Civics and trying to race in a straight line to show how cool I am.
  13. Do YOU even know what an LS looks like?
  14. Believe it or not R12 is actually very very easy to find, its all over craigslist, around $25-50 a can, to $400+ a tank. Then theres ebay, and theres literally tons of it on there, its just pricey. Its still legal to use, just not to produce. I can get a brand new condenser if needed, but I am probably sticking with my original since I have to spend money on a new receiver/dryer already (cause its old as piss) And if I go with anything other than a Maxima/910 condensor then I have to make custom lines, fuck that, I priced it out, and it would run a minimum of $200, and that is just not going to happen, stock lines are in excellent condition. Everything in the suspension is stock except the 280zx lowering springs which are the exact same size and fitment as the ones I took out
  15. I bought 280zx lowering springs that a Datsun store had available on ebay, The rate seems to be perfect for my current purposes, but the front sits just a bit too high. I will not be using any 134a. My plan is to use 12a and test for leaks/fix any found leaks, then once no leaks switch back to actual R12. I want to be cold. lol Thanks for the advice man, I wont be cutting any springs regardless now that I have seen the trick with the split collars and the perches, but I am definitely not gonna do anything for a couple thousand miles to make sure they are broken in. I have already noticed the rear got a bit lower, haha.
  16. The next thing I need to do is get the AC working propperly. Any opinions/experience with that are gladly welcome...... As soon as that is fixed, it gets wheels.
  17. I just realized I havent updated this since I put lower suspension on it and the door panels and fixed the door cracks. I have been so busy lately its ridiculous. My new welding guy at WCD fab, since my last one is MIA right now, this guy does pretty good work. New door panels in the front now. I lowered her on 280zx lowering springs and KYBs in the rear, the front needs a bit lower still, but I will need split collars for that. Its stiffer than it was, which is nice. This pic is before the tint, lol
  18. Dude, for your first time on a mill you are doing really well. Keep up the great work, make sure you post the finished product!!
  19. Datsun 910s only came in one country in the entire world with an Inline 6 engine. Why go smaller?
  20. Is this a real quote................ .................lulz
  21. The "normal" design would in theory be more rigid, but even at 15 and 16 years old, these machines still do lots of work beautifully, and they are still extremely solid machines. I prefer the VMCs with A axis though. All our machines are HAAS, we dont use anything else.
