BIG UPDATE TIEM
Recently i decided to convert my Weber fed L19 to dual 46mm ZTherapy SU carbs i got from Boaty. My buddy WAGONJON did the manifold conversion. He does excellent work.
Had to source a new intake manifold gasket. The only place in Sac with one was Autozone, 15 miles away or so.
Aside from some heat issues due to lack of any heat sheilding, the car runs spectacuplarly. Response is great, mileage seems unaffected. But i still needed an air filter setup. I had a shortened 240Z airbox, and the lid wouldnt clear. So i decided to make my own!
I scored a plate of 3/16" aluminum plate from a NEAT place in Sacramento called Blue Collar Supply. I traced the backplate to the aluminum to create a lid. JBIRD helped me there with his shop to cut it out. Problem is, it turned out to be T6 or something. Hard as hell! Took a LOT of effort to cut.
Jbird hacking at it.
The result of 3 hours work.
I then discovered the air horns were too tall for the height of the filter, so i shortened them.
Reflared them using a giant craftsman socket with angled edges on the bottom.
Then was the install.
It still needs compression limiters to avoid destroying the filter when tightening.
I then took Jons advise to eliminate the excessive rubber fuel line i was using.
Scored a rough SU feed line from 510keeper, straightened it up, cleaned it, and installed.
Here it is all said and done.
Just waiting on a few more parts, and itll be on the road again!
