Nasty ass lz23 v2

Z24 crank with a l20 block? Your rods must be super short. I always thought the V91 head was the same as the 219 head (SSS). That also seems to be a really small power band. Im guessing you have a super light flywheel and clutch to get it up to those 3500 rpm quickly?
2. There's no way he needs that large of a cam. Your engine is .5L larger than his. Of course you need more lift.
3. It all depends on how you drive and what you've done to the engine. If it is a stock l18 with the SSS head then you should stick with the stock cam. If you start upgrading with boring out, flat tops, etc, then it would make sense to get a larger cam. Only reason I increased my cam size was because I have a larger than stock displacement motor. The cam you have in the SSS head was designed exactly for that set up.
4. Some of my favorite planes Bonus, the aircraft that should have won the JSF contract. X32
5. No I meant 13 inch wheels with 175/50r13 tires so about 3 inches smaller in diameter.
6. I need some opinions on set up. Right now this is what I am building. 2.2L stroker with u67 head and performance cam with plenty of lift (.535). 44mm Mikunis. non turbo zx transmission and 3.90 CLSD. 15 inch wheels with 195/50r15 tires. Datsun Comp suspension. So where I am running into trouble is the ride height. I don't like how high it sits with 15 inch wheels. It was designed as a track suspension so really I should be running 13 inch wheels. My logic is that this makes the the engine rev faster. If that is the case, should I upgrade to 50mm carbs? If it builds air velocity quickly enough then I could see them being not only more powerful, but also giving me a better power curve. Is my logic correct though?
7. Flatcat clean your inbox so I can PM you.

8. Awesome aircraft so far! This is what I wish we had bought and built instead of the F-35 POS. F-16 Block 60
9. I would say that fjs are pretty weak from the factory. But it is easy to change to a much stronger axle parts. We sadly don't get the best toyotas in the US. The hilux and 70 series lc would decimate the market.
10. False. The hilux and land cruiser are brilliant. I love my 80 series. I wish they sold the turbo diesel version in the US
11. Preach. Also the Gen 2 Prius was not that great. It just didn't drive all that well. Now my dad has the current gen prius and my girlfriend has the smaller hatchback version. They are way better to drive AND are brilliantly designed. Comfortable. Sorry guys, hybrid is the current path of the future to full EV. Even WEC and F1 recognize that.
12. Go crawling with Land Cruiser guys. You might get poked a bit for being a Jeep guy but all in good fun. We actually take on trails. And legitimately crawl them. I don't think I've ever gone above 1200 RPM when crawling. Once I am done with my 510 my net project is converting my LC to a diesel. Cummins 6BT.
13. Everything about this. Especially the people that drive them. You know they have never actually gone crawling but they will shit talk like there is no tomorrow. I had a jeep guy try to convince me that his jeep was better than my 80 series Land Cruiser because he had important things like a winch and off road lights. Oh and my girlfriend drives the small hatchback Prius and I don't think its terrible. :fu: :fu: :fu: :fu:

16. I have heard of certain honda rods being used. I cannot remember the model though. IIRC they were the same sized pin and a slightly smaller journal.

Its the younger brother to the SR, not the L.

The z20e rods are 6 inch rods. And I used ford/mazda 2.3l pistons. Works out perfectly.
19. You could always do a l20 frankenbuild. Depending on your budget you can make a pretty bitching l20.

Nice build. Did you think about trying to get longer rods? I know in my frankenmotor (l20, Z22, 6 inch rods) I could get the z20e rods to work which give a better rod/stroke ratio. I remember when I was talking to Troy and Dave Rebello about my build before I found pistons to work with my 6 inch rods they advised against me using a z22 with l20 rods. just food for thought.
21. Guess I should check back in

22. UPDATE! So after a few unsuccessful attempts to sell the 510 because I am a broke ass hell and all my money goes into school my dad took pity and decided to help me out with funds. So lots of work done this week/weekend. My crankshaft has had some tolerance issues so I dropped it off at the machine shop to have them check it out. If it all good then I might have to line bore the block. Dropped off the gas tank to get cleaned and coated. Talked to Joel about setting up a fuel system. Think I am going to hide a fuel pump next to the spare tire and put the regulator in the bay with the automatic return. Found amazing seats very similar to the kenmeri seats. They are a bit costly, but totally worth it.

Stuff I actually did to the car. Routed all the hard brake lines for the rear. Assembled the rear arms completely. The spindle nut is a bitch to get correct. Put the rear arms on. Put the rear swaybar on. Routed the original fuel lines but I have a feeling that I will be cutting it where it bends to the outside of the frame rails to bring it up the firewall. Taking the front arms and tension rods to get blasted and powdercoated. Will get pictures up soon.
23. Back from the dead. Ickie, I will send cams tomorrow. I am sorry you had to wait so long, I will send 50% back to you. Gotta sell my 510 :(

24. There probably aren't enough r190s out there for you to spend your time on making a cover. Racing guys prefer r180s over the 190s.
25. Bought crankshat, wheel bearings, and front coil over components today. Plenty to work on in the coming future.
