Put the 5sp in. Way less RPM on the highway, brings it down like 1000rpm. Just use the drive line and cross member from the 5sp car. Both will go into either car.

A VW caught fire? No Way!

Its a push rod engine so the cam is in the block. Super easy to do, just gotta make sure to do cold then hot valve adjustments after reassembly. I used 510 rears(cut) and stock fronts(cut) then put rubber snubbers in the spring coils to stiffen it up. It will bottom out the shocks in front so take them in to a machine shop and have them cut off about 4in and rethread the shaft. You can also cut off the shock towers and raise them up. Would not recomend this cause all the measuring that you gotta do to make it right. I have a car that was done this way and it is pretty Hack. Drives weird and everything.

This is the Goon the day I rescued it, from the origonal owner. Sat there under the powerlines for 15years. Paint eaten away by bird shit, moss, and slugs. All it needed was some fresh gas, a batt, and some air for the tires! Bought it($400) for the A14 and 5sp. Swapped it with Stewart Jr's original A12A 4sp motivation. Sold it to a friend for $100(needed a car) who lowered it and put in a new windshield. The clutch slave went out and he thought it was the tranny and said if I didnt want it he was going to have it hauled off to the wrecker! I went over to his place and replaced the slave cyl. All of the sudden he wanted to keep it. I gave him $200 and drove off. He had already signed the title! Whats her story? You are the greatest! :thumbup:

Was thinkin about making a header for my Pumpkn. But instead I took my factory manifold and hogged it out with the grinder. Will definately flow TONS better! Then patched up all the outer holes and heat shield mount holes. Then ground off the outside for a Stock Hi-Po look. Now just gotta blast it with media to get the uniform surface and treat it. Should look like it came out of the factory like that.

Was towed behind a old guys motorhome for most of its early life. Given to his grandkids, ins to expensive. Sold to my dad for $40(not a miss print) Traded to the neighbor for a automatic honda for my sis to drive. She bought it back from him for $300 for her IDIOT boyfriend to drive. Love the rivets! May hafta do a Riveted on Polished Aluminum Roof on the Pumpkn :hmm: Wonder how much lighter some thin aluminum is than the stock sheet.

Its ok man, its just a chevy anyway :D We all get caught off guard once in a whyle. Thats why I love the rear wheel drive, easy enough to hold a slide. 4x4 seem to plow alot on the slick stuff.
