  1. Canby weekend, HELL YEAH!!!

  2. What are most people using instead of Photobucket now? I would like to be able to post pics, so I need to choose a replacement for Photobucket. Whatever I choose must be android phone friendly, since I don't own a desktop computer anymore, & rarely have time to sit ,& use one if I did.

  4. I'm looking for someone who can pick up a 610 grille from Merlin Blackwell, and very Carefully bring it to either Rat's with Dats on Saturday, or Canby on Sunday. I am afraid tof have it shipped, because I don't want it damaged. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  5. I'm in search of a pair of '79 or later 210 strut top hats. Do any of you have a set, or know of someone who has a set for sale? Thank you for any help with this!

  6. Help! does anyone fairly near Canby,Wilsonville area have a pair of useable stock brake rotors for a '70 510 wagon, that i can get cheap,or even free? at some point, a previous owner put left side calipers on both sides, causeing the brakes on that side to drag, wearing out the inner brake pad,& the wheel bearings. i have a correct caliper, but i am fairly sure the rotor is worn on the inside,so it needs to be replaced. For some reason,my car uses the earlier style bearings,which...

Thanks go out to Draynor, & Shawn Drawdy! Draynor brought me a hub,& rotor,& Shawn Drawdy let me use his shop to fix this. Here's a picture of what's left of the old right front wheel hub from my car. That's the outer wheel bearing race floating around down inside the hub. I'm Amazed, and really Damn LUCKY the wheel didn't come off while I was driving! [url=http://s832.photobucket.com/user/lorenolver/media/Mobile Uploads/2015-10/20151028_121704...

Draynor brought me a hub & rotor. I was getting these from him soon anyway, as soon as he's done modifying the strut tubes, for Rabbit inserts,& coil over collars. Thanks to both Draynor,& Shawn Drawdy (for letting me use his shop,to replace the destroyed hub)! Here's a picture of what's left of my old right front wheel hub. I have 10 of the OP/Dist drives, what did you do with the original one from your 521? If it had the L16 motor, the drive will fit the L20B

I went ahead & ordered the bolt from Nissan. I have found a matching gear & distributor drive from my good friend Aaron.

  8. Ineed to find out what years & models the "dogleg" 5 speed came in,or what the part number for a rebuild kit would be. will one of you please answer this question for me? thanks!

Thanks guys! I will look that up. the dogleg I have a bad 2nd gear synchro, or so I'm told. I have 2 5 speeds for my truck, the dogleg, or a '78 620 5 speed, that has a cracked extension housing & a flattened end, where the seal is & the driveline attaches. I need to get one of these transmissions fixed.

  13. I had a great weekend at the Datsun Driving CANBY fun event! I spent so much time talking to fellow Datsun people & trying to meet as many Ratsun people as I could, that I didn't take very many pictures, as a matter of fact, I forgot to take a picture of my own Datsun at the show.

  16. I need a pair of stock front struts, spindles, hubs, brakes, etc for my '70 510 goon. at some point, a previous owner put on an earlier front clip, including the front suspension, so they will need to work with that. any help will be greatly appreciated! my car has been sitting in the driveway for almost 2 months. I just want to get it fixed. the current setup has been destroying the right inner wheel bearing, & wearing out brake pads, but it doesn't pull, or wear tires...

  17. I need to get a clutch set for my 521 project truck. I have a ('78 ?) L20b that is not quite finished being rebuilt, & a dogleg 5 speed, that I have no idea what it was originally in. can someone please tell me what part number I need to use to order a new clutch kit? thank you!

thanks, Wayno! I don't have the new engine here right now. The old engine was a stock l16, with stock 4 speed. I don't know if that flywheel is useable or not, but the pressure plate, disc ,& throw out bearing were apparently no good. I have a rusty clutch set that came with the L20b, but it looks pretty bad Too. I can have the flywheel resurfaced though. just so I'm sure I understand, does the clutch part # depend on the engine, or just the flywheel, or does the type of...

The L16 flywheel will not fit your L20b, you will likely need to use the rusty flywheel, it really depends on what it came off of, I would not use anything but 225mm or 240mm myself, but you need to remember that you need the collar for that size clutch cover/disc, do not put them together in the truck, mate them together before installing them to make sure you have the correct collar, it's a lot easier to fit when not in the truck.

Nismo Dr. That's funny. I was basically hired over the phone by the district manager on Tuesday, but I didn't fill out paperwork until yesterday(Thursday).

I wasn't even at the new job an hour, before 2 different customers from my old job came in. They both said right in front of my new boss, that they appreciate how thorough I am,& that I go the extra mile to find them the parts they need. I had just finished taking a parts number recognition test, scored 100%. My ne...

  19. well, yesterday ROCKED! I got 4 calls about job offers, 2 from store managers, & 2 from the district manager. It looks like my experience, and passion for customer service is worth something after all! I don't want to jinx it, so I'll let you know as soon as I get a start date.

As long as it would work correctly, & hold up to regular driving. There was a thread on here for awhile on a Volvo wagon rear axle swap, I've heard the Mazda Rx7 one is fragile, & the Ford one has to be cut down,& is heavy. Is there any way to get a limited slip differential into a 510 wagon, & 521 pickup without swapping to IRS?

  23. finally got a copy of the "How to modify Datsun engines & chassis " manual the other day. how important is it to "eyebrow" the area around the cylinders on the block surface on the L20b, with peanut head that I'm building for my 521 project? the problem is that we have already installed the crankshaft. is there any way to "un -shroud" that area so the valves can breathe better at this stage?

In my book, it's on page 129. My book was printed in 1973, so later copies may have this on a different page. They refer to it as "notching or "eyebrowing". The purposes are to un shroud the intake & exhaust valves to increase the engines breathing ability. It also says that the edge 9 the valves are so close to the cylinder wall while at, or near maximum lit that it is "shrouded" by the cylinder wall, so it cannot breathe well. With a racing camshaft, the valves...

Is any of this necessary on an l20b?

  24. the 2 weber carbs I got with my engine are probably useless. The dgav is missing the choke " butterfly " plates, the connecting rod and pretty much the rest 9 the choke related stuff. the other carb is different. it's a weber, marked 32 dmsa. my air cleaner adapter i want to use, so i can use the factory air cleaner may not fit. is this carb even worth rebuilding & putting on my L20b?

  25. I'm hoping one of you can tell me the measurements of a dog leg 5 speed. I tried using the search function here, as well as Google, but I'm at work,& we don't have WiFi here, so it's not really working out on my smartphone. your help is appreciated, thanks!
