  1. I prefer the zx trans. I heard one time that the doglegs are a pain to rebuild but I may be wrong.
  2. Congrats to you. always a good feeling to own a home or have a good roof over your head. i remember the day we got our house. a good sense of our paychecks goin to something that means something more.

    Wagon with a cage

wow looks pretty serious in there. like a jungle Gym. sorry I like 510's without all the stuff like roll cages but I do have to admire nice work.

    510 drift??

yeah it is true 510's are getting sort of scarce. all the ones I see are beat down bad or ruined with bad mods. I have been talking to folks in japan and it is worse there. lots of the cars are rusted out bad or the ones that are clean sell for a lot. as much as a new scion in the states.

    Mikunis

not sure to what hp #s air horns would make if any but it would sure smooth out the airflow. go check troy or dave rebello todd at wolf creek for stacks. also try pierce manifolds in Gilroy for prices on horns. you can also check TWM induction for air horns. but if you are looking for deal maybe check out a swap meet.
  6. never tried those sensatracs but if the springs are like a helper I do not see anything majorly wrong with using them. do they state the rate of the springs?

    510 drift??

I would think the 510 coupe and sedan would be fine. maybe just have to do some mods like hand brake lever but other than that. I would choose a sedan or coupe over a wagon mainly for parts support. Wagons would be ok as they have a solid rear end like a corolla.
  8. clean interior IMTB. hice Nardi wheel
  9. I always want to catch shows or meets in Japan. maybe next time I can catch one. cars are so clean there.
  10. These are my favorites but may be pricey for some of them. Nopa on Divisadero and Hayes in san francisco $15.00 Joes Cable Car on Silver and Mission in san francisco $10.00 Joes on Geary in san francisco $ 6.00 Barney's in san francisco. $7-8 1/4 lb in Hayward $ 5-6 Mos Burger if you are in Japan or Hong Kong Kua Aina in Chiba Japan at the mall or Hawaii Fat Burger in LA area. why I like these places. good, fresh, tasty, various burgers are good and good fries.
  11. not a bad deal if it is as clean as it is shown and reliable. If I was closer I would buy and have it to slap in a car and go.
  12. I personally would get the zx front brakes and struts. easy mod and cheap, for me at that time I got lucky and got my set up almost for free from a junk yard. just had to clean it up, resurface rotors, re pack bearings and change seals and get brake pads. I also got bump steer spacers and it all came together well. no negative camber. tire wear is even and stable on freeway given I pretty much changed all other parts like ball joints and tie rods and bushings. car feels good considering it is 38 years old.
  13. to Paradoxx it was 139 at that time with my Long rod motor. built by rebello. I have made changes from that time and have not dynoed but I know it is at about 150 whp. pulls harder and is smoother. can't tell you specs though on cam as it is a rebello setup but I can tell you there is more to it than just a cam that makes power.
  14. are you going to be using zx struts and brakes or stock brakes and struts?
  15. Yes it was a nice upgrade. I was lucky and got it off a guy local to me for cheap and addco was nice to send me new hardware free just pay shipping. I can tell you one thing about wagons but most cars in general. don't lower it a lot unless you plan on making mods to the chassis. I lowered mine 2" out back with blocks and can tell you don't go lower unless you mod the chassis to avoid rear end knocking and driveshaft knock. I will be adding a panhard bar as I feel that would help a lot for not a lot of money or mods. I live in san francisco and roads here are not good hence that is why I did not lower it a lot but maybe your area may be nicer road wise. I am sure you have read a lot of the mods people have done to enhance handling. you can do a lot of mods for cheap. I literally found a lot of items at the junkyard for cheap or free or on craigslist or ebay from people clearing out space. I think the only thing I paid for was new shocks for front and I even got a good price on those. If you need coil overs and tokico shocks I can offer them.
  16. not sure on the rate but I believe I have seen a posting of 180 or 200 lbs. I am sure someone can post more exact numbers. as for the bar you can call addco direct and get it, I have the addco bar and got the hardware from them.
  17. my faves beside my car are datdoug and imtb's rides. like the factory colors and wheel choices.
  18. Maintenance Supervisor for senior health care facility. work on cars on the side.
  19. yeah if you can go see him. He does have a shop and is a good tuner and good with Nitrous and other fabrication and race stuff. I know he does a lot of drag race and bonneville salt flat stuff. On top of this he is a nice person
  20. if you are near visalia go see Vernon at Raver Motorsports. He knows a good deal about 510 stuff
  21. thanks for the reply. my car is actually fine. it starts fine only time it takes a while to start is when I let the car sit for a week but that is normal. I was just curious if there were any other side benefits but it seems like there would not be. I hear you on the psi amount as I have mikuni's and at first the fuel psi was at 6 psi with stock pump but I got a regulator and dialed it down to 3 psi. I just seem to see a lot lately the use of the factory style nissan electric pump but wondered also if there was wiring set from factory near the tank for a electric pump ( I have a wagon) or would I have to run wires. I have not been under the car for a while and don't remember thanks for the feedback.
  22. Just curious and wanted to confirm if my assumption is correct. I am using the stock Lseries fuel pump that is mechanically driven but considered swapping to a electric unit. If I did this would the benefit possibly be quicker starts as fuel would be sent to carbs faster as opposed to the mechanical one needing the engine to cycle to pump it? would there be any other benefit to warrant making the swap. thanks in advance Benzo
