  1. pretty sweet set up. any details about it? and sound or vids or it running you can share?

    510 $ door

to me not worth it. I know the cars are so called getting old but some of cars I have been seeing makes me think people are on drugs. wanting a lot for a old car and in crap condition. some cars I have been seeing people should give or pay people to get off their property.
  3. I would keep the honda. it is reliable and already paid for. would not cost that much more to keep it. get the datsun if you can for a good price and slowly work on it if you can. I see so many people get older cars and get slammed with all the repairs or items that need changing since the car is so old and parts are so worn. once you get the datsun nice and running good then consider selling the honda. believe me I have been down this road. I went from a kid at 16 having a 240z and not knowing a lot and learned a lot then sold the car cause I did not know some in depth repairs and car was not reliable. went honda route and loved it as it was reliable and learned a ton of stuff about engine building, racing, engine swapping and automotive repair and now what I know I own a 510 and love it but still own a honda that my wife drives daily to work and it is very reliable still. good luck
  4. did you still need a weber air cleaner assembly for a DGV carb. I think I have a clean unit for say 25.00 plus shipping?
  5. congrats yeah I have some issues of vintage auto that have some realm and ratsun rides. you may see some on my pages flickr under benzo510 or myspace under garagelife
  6. I would change the ball joints as well tie rods or any worn out suspension parts. does not cost a lot but car will be safer and stable. from what I heard is if you use zx struts and brakes you may have to use bump steer spacers as the caliper may hit the tie rod making it not fit or you can swap the driver's strut assembly to the passenger side and passenger to Driver's side so the calipers face the front of the car and clear the tie rods. anyone want to chime in on this if I am correct. on my wagon I am using zx struts but I have bump steer spacers and for me it clears
  7. that is good to hear. always nice to have heat and keep the windows clear. sucks that the valves are not available anymore but with a little elbow grease it is all good. the pain part is lying contorted to unhook everything to take out. car will run better as a leaking hose or core can introduce air into cooling system which can cause issues
  8. I like and use momo and sparco as they fit and feel great and the hubs work very well. you can used Nardi and grant also. Nardi and sparco can use momo hubs. Grant is not bad for the money. I think you can also use a 240Z steering wheel also. and in the case you are looking for a momo hub you can use the Z car momo hubs also on a 510
  9. Good looking out and thanks for that info. I have heard that and have brought that up. will see what happens.
  10. maybe if Joel or anyone buys my gas cap off my wagon I may be able to add money and get this locking cap
  11. thanks for the compliment. Japan is a interesting and unique place. if you can make it there let me know so i can tell you some spots to check out and eat for decent prices. Japan car culture is awesome there. all cars are clean.
  12. if you want new try twm induction wolf creek racing rebello racing ermish racing toysport top end performance
  13. Yeah I get to travel with my friends passes so I have no luggage or weight restriction so I can bring wheels back if needed. chiba is closer but still lugging boxes of wheels is a bit of a pain. I would laugh if I saw a wheel in a suitcase. how often do you go to japan? I have been there 4 times in one year. and may be back in april. sweet pics your wife took of the wagon. that car is clean. It can get distracting talking and looking at all the items he has. it is refreshing as he is not stingy or greedy about stuff. seems like you are steady into bikes or the fixed gear scene. I just picked up a mission bikes valencia frame and almost done with my motobecane and have my daily commuter 80's univega converted but I run a coaster brake rear wheel. lots of fun. I am cheap when it comes to bikes as i don't want to get it stolen as bike theft is big in san francisco. maybe if I come down to so cal I can meet up with you and kick it or bring my bike and go riding?
  14. Jun Yeah Masato is cool. He is getting to know me better. I always go to see him even if I don't buy anything. sometimes hard to buy stuff as not all items fit for US cars and also do not want to carry so much back and prices are not always cheap. If I can bring back wheels I would as I am looking for more. I have a slight fascination for wheels. I am like you can't come back empty handed. I have been into bikes but did not look for much. i was trying to get some NJS bars for my friend but you can get that stuff here. My wife was with me at refresh 60 and understands more about what I do with cars and the fascination with them. she wanted masato's sedan in front. haha. that pic you posted was cool as wagons/vans are rare in japan. nice to see that. do you live in so cal?I have been wanting to make the JCCS as i can never break off to do so.
  15. thanks for the compliment. still work in progress but hard for me to keep a car down long as I like to drive it more than work on it. I just got back and usually stay in Chiba at my friends. I did go see rich (goichi) and a fellow friend of his sugata with a super dope 510 resto rod and Masato at refresh 60. you can see pics on my flickr at benzo510 or myspace at garagelife. I did go to the tokyo auto salon and had a good time. picked up some small goods. I do want to go to up garage and autobacs and south-yokohama and star road to find stuff. I may get another 510 orZ car to start autoxing again. the work you did is good on the wheels. it paid off for imtb your wagon is nice and work space is clean. good luck on your work. I hope to work on my garage area to make it a nice work and lounge space. that is work in progress.
  16. I use flickr under benzo510 and I still have a myspace page for 510 stuff under garagelife
  17. it depends on the condition and what type of manifold and how complete the set up is. if you have pictures or description it would help a lot.
  18. not sure of the year but I can check or send you pics of it. just send me a email at bull_ogna@hotmail.com. it does not come with a dist. Benzo
  19. no problem. I will get back to you on the prices
  20. I really need to get out and make the south bay ones that are held on thursday's. they are a bit far for me when I get off work but need to meet more people out there. maybe I should host one in SF somewhere to increase variety of locations
  21. Jun that is one nice wagon. looks clean. nice elbow grease on the wheels. sort of looks like my wagon in a way. do you go to japan a lot? what place in japan did you get the wheels? I am here now and lurkin around
  22. for the regulator I have never heard of a way to test off the car don't know if you can just put a hose on it and blow or add pressure some way to see if it works with a guage in so cal I think there is fast freddy's or top end performance or any shop that deals with weber parts like old VW or european car places. I think you can try pierce manifolds in gilroy for parts or toysport check your heater valve under the dash on the drivers side to see if it is open or is it leaking. also if the motor blows strong check the ducts to see if they are connected or not broken. I recently rebuilt my heater system by changing the valve cleaning the unit of leaves and checking all cables work and now it is pretty toasty at times.
  23. you can fab up if you have the time and skill but some buy the wedge brackets to mount the factory sliders. cost more but makes it easy
