You said you replaced he coolant... did you do a full flush of the radiator? You might have a blockage somewhere thats preventing adequate circulation. Also, as suggested you should check to see if the gauge is faulty; use a temp gun to get a reading and compare it to the gauges reading.

Mike doesnt consult the Datsun Database... its actually the other way around. The Datsun Database is actually hardwired into Mikes head... so anytime Datsun needs info they consult him.

Since you bagging the car, you shouldnt run into any issues that we were talking about through PM. Ive contemplated going to bags as well as I had lots of friends around that drove slammed trucks... but I just havent figured out what I want to do. I might do a bit more research and see what I can piece together for a simple kit. JRock is right though... fuck all the electronics. All of my friends trucks try to be as manual as possible. Its less to fail and last we talked about it, none of them found anything that was worth the price they paid. Everyone went back to plain switches and simple gauges. Ill be watching this thread and seeing how you do. Maybe Ill follow suit and run bags after I see where you fuck up lol.

I win! Yeah I have the repro ones and they seem good quality. I havent installed them yet, but just holding them they look and feel good. Im happy with the money I spent on them (like $25 shipped)

Both the above posts are correct... youre going to want to inspect as much as you can see. Since its an older car, youre going to want to look at places that arent normally visible. Lift up the corners of the carpet, pick up the spare tire cover, get down on your back and look at frame rails/rocker, look in wheel wells. Bring a flashlight with you even if youre doing it during the day. It will help you look behind the engine or under the car. Are you sure thats a 70?- it has earlier 68/69 sidemarkers and a 68 grille (though the panels are a different color so all of that could have been swapped over)

I bought a set of aftermark arrows off eBat for abou $20.

I have the stock tape deck with no knobs, and one 3" round speaker dangling from under the dash on the passenger side... thats the extent of my in-car stereo. Thats why I have to rock the iHome :crying:

I'm not sure what computer you're using, but I use Handbrake for all of my conversion needs.

Thank you... I might do a few extras since I still have some time, but I wanted to share what I'm working on.

I have an L16 and the 3spd auto... I have some noticeable vibration at about 65mph and then goes away at about 70mph. After that Im bacl to normal and can reach 100mph if I so choose. I will admit that it takes me awhile to get up there, but it has no issues getting up there at its medium pace. I would assume that the larger 2-liter version should get up and go compared to mine. I would recommend getting it checked out.
