Yeah, the old school judging was a little skewed but oh well. I didn't go specifically to try to win a trophy... Just there for hang out. Still a great time! Had a blast other than the killer sunburn and missing out on free BBQ.

Just so you know, 5spd swaps are pretty simple. I wouldn't rule one out because it's an automatic. You could suck it up for a month or so while you get the parts needed to swap it. It would give you more options for a body in state/condition you want.

Both of those facts aren't quite true. They continued the Skyline moniker in Japan, but not here in the States. The 350z in fact is part of the Skyline branding. Also, there are the classics here already imported so you could in fact buy one here. There was a 2000 GT 4dr. for sale on CL awhile ago. You could also pick one up from someone like JDM Legends who already brought it in.

I wouldn't say coilovers would be the best option for only an inch. For a single inch, I would say cut springs would be perfect. Then after that I would choose lowering springs, then cut and reweld the perches, then coilovers. I would not spend nearly $1000 just to lower a car an inch. I would start at cutting the stock springs. It's free and you can see if you like it. After that you can move up the chain of work and price.
