Powder coating is extremely durable. There's pictures of tests where soda cans are coated and then partially crushed. Stuff didn't crack or flake. It's great stuff... Though I've never hear of anyone powdercoating a block. If masked properly, I don't see why not though. Should be no more harm than painting.

Id like to talk shit about that car, but I cant. I may get some hate, but aesthetically Ive always been a fan of 2nd gen MR2s. Without those window stickers the car looks great (even with the pink wheels). It seems like the window stickers are trying to be ironic... as the saying on that large one is ridiculous and the other large one is an APC one. APC is the cheapest, shittiest aftermarket car parts manufacturer. Peel off the stickers and Id drive that no problem.

Roadsters normally arent that cheap for a nice one. And you were referencing a price from 1999 not current prices of other roadsters in similar condition for far less (like your gas analogy). Im all for saving money on things, but when all the other roadsters out there are more money, then you have to pay the price... or just not buy one. Obviously, $300 is cheaper than the $2800 asking price... but when you look at current Roadster prices thats a pretty damn good deal for the condition its in. If your buddy got it for $300 and the current owner got it for less than that then I applaud both of them. But that was 1999... 13 years ago.
