Hello there Rastuners, I'm in need of a red speedometer pinion gear (20 tooth I believe & only the pinion, not whole housing) for a newly transplanted 5 speed in my 521.

Please let me know what you have & how much you're asking. I have some 510 wagon parts & a few 521 parts to trade or just plain mulah via PayPal.

You should include some info about the transmission because there are some varieties....

Most likely you have a long tail 71b, so you should be looking for a shorter assembly.... also you might want the whole assembly.... I'm not sure when it happens but the larger gears actually use an offset body to compensate for the diameter.....

Thanks for the info. Yes, the 5 speed is a long tail (out of a 78 620 if I recall but not 100% sure). I have another long tail  spare that I pulled the pinion sleeve out of today so I was hoping to source just the red pinion & save a few bucks until I recover from the rebuild & install costs for the motor.
