  1. im seeing a couple of Frontiers that could be candidates if I could talk them down to 3 grand or so. other than the motor and transmission mounts would there be any other things I would need for the swap? mainly looking for a un abused engine as I want to put it in and be good to go, then later down the line I'll put a little money in a N/A build for a bit more power but still reliable.
  2. whats a fair price to pay for engine, trans, harness, etc. and any tips on finding this stuff would help a lot thanks.
  3. appreciate it @ggzilla
  4. hey, so im looking to Ka24de swap my 73 datsun 620 and looking for some guidance on the whole process. whats a good price to pay for a ka24de with manual transmission? Im looking to get the engine and transmission mounts from redeye and i heard that the drive shaft need to be shortened. also the can/am wiring boxes? appreciate the help guys.
  5. I made it, stopped to have it cool down a bit once in awhile and then it would get immediately hot when I turned it on and not go. turns out the choke plates were getting stuck and wouldn't open. so I took the choke plates out and it got me the rest of the way there. I think the electric choke was having issues opening up all the way.
  6. and this was in 110+ degree heat which ill be in at the hottest 94 towards the ned of the trip
  7. whats a normal range for the gauge to be in mine gets to like 75% then stays there.
  8. got the truck running at around 750 at 8 degrees advance with a little room to advance it a bit more. we'll see today if it over heats. I am going on an 8 hour drive coming out of phoenix which is pretty hot and then ill be more north where it will be about 90-94 degrees but I want to make sure the truck stays cool and runs cool any tips would be appreciated to help with that I'm changing the oil and getting some new spark plugs. I leave tomorrow. Thanks Y'all
  9. okay so here's whats happening I have a timing light where you can select what degree advance you want and I had at 8 but its really set at 16 degrees since I had it set. I just took it for a drive and it didn't go all the way hot like it did before, this time it stayed at around 75% on the gauge. the problem is if I turn the distributor down to 8 degrees it will be too low rpm and too lean which I think is why it was running overly hot the first time.
  10. I bled it and its topped off ill go drive it around to see if it overheats again. yea there's no more slot left on either adjustments on the distributor and that barely gets it to 8 degrees advanced
  11. I recently just replaced the exhaust manifold gasket and carb gaskets and it runs good but it overheats very quickly and it doesn't stay cool I flushed and replaced the coolant. also i have to have my distributor all the way maxed out to get to 8 degrees advanced and it still runs at very low rpms so I did about 12 degrees and its bit better but literally everything is to the max on tuning for it to run at like 750 rpm
  12. you were talking to a couple of people in this forum. @datsunaholic mentioned his moms 73 620 came of the lot with a l16 and A87 head. another guy mentioned his 73 had a87 aswell
  13. I mentioned above its an l16. we'll see what happens after these parts come in pretty inexpensive and good future prevention. maybe we'll hit 5 pages haha
  14. can't find the 14035-U0105. the 14035-U2810 has 1.5" intake port and the size of the gasket I just took out is 1.5". I think its good for the a87 head that's on my truck
  15. it says L16, I was reading an old forum on here and there were some who said that some of the l16 pre October came with the a87 head. any insight on the intake manifold gasket ^^^
