At least there was a 510 there this year. Nice li'l' blue one from the area. Here's a few pix of it:

DCOE Webers with Naws or is it Naus. The timing cover is at least an L20B, might be an LZ22

Pop quiz: name the engine

One of the most famous engines in the world. It's name is legendary and instantly recognizable.

An obscure six cylinder from the late '60's. Dual exhaust, 4bbl, OHC, 10.5:1 and 215 hp. Good for 7,000 RPMs.

Hey lou! I stuck around for a while but he didn't show up to talk to. Very clean in out and under.

The OHC six wasn't used in the Camaro but you're close! The Quadrajet clue points to GM for sure. I said it had PMD on the valve cover Pontiac Motor Division. This was a John DeLorian engine idea pushed through by him and available in the Tempest (GTO Jr.) and Le Mans Sprint models '66 to '70 and Firebird '67 to '70. Very innovative for it's time. This one was in a Firebird.

Hi Mike,

Yes that car is very nice for sure ,the guy is one of us true to heart Datsun people,

Hmm thought that Motor came in the Camaro(or was it the Firebird)

Speaking of Cumberland,I recently heard that there is a Backroad that connects Port to Comox Lake have you been on this road??

Word has it there was a gate not too sure if it is still there,

Yes past Central Lake and in the back door past Willimar lake. This was ten years ago and there were lots of turns to make, then back track and try another, but eventually made it. It might be easier now. Nice drive for sure.

Being it is a DeSoto engine and not a Chrysler it shouldn't be a 392 Hemi. Most likely it is 341, or maybe the original 276. An expert could tell by looking, but unless it's a Datsun engine they all look alike to me.

As I recall, that Pontiac engine was the very first to use a rubber timing belt.

It could very well be a smaller hemi. I should have gotten the year and make.

Yes, that was one of many reasons NOT to run OHC engines... noisy gears and chains. This was a bold move, using a cogged belt. Not really accepted at that time, but time has proven that it works.
