datsunfreak
So a looooong time ago, a buddy in Houston sent me this photo... And then he asked if I wanted to buy it. Price was decent, and he said it was runner, so a week later it was at my house... I was not in a position at the time to do anything with it, so I pushed it in the garage and sort of forgot about it... Then a couple of years later, a buddy here local to me offered to fix the paint. It was at his shop for almost 2 years, then it came back to me like this... Then I promptly pushed it back in the garage and forgot about it for a couple of more years... 😄 5 Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
I did do a few things along the way. Got new bumpers for it ('68 rear with NOS license light), and some tail lights from Japan... The car is a '72, but keen eyed observers will notice the '68 front valence on it (result of a previous fender bender), so I thought a '68 rear end would suit it... 1 Quote Link to comment

datsunfreak
Front grill and trim back on, couln't resist modifying the grill a bit... Also put on a new front bumper, but apparently did not take a pic... 😄 I have not really done much on it over the last 2-3 years, but I am planning to get back on this now, since I need the space it is currently occupying to work on my 240Z. Plan is to get it back to running shape, then do the cosmetics it needs (mostly interior, otuside is done), wheel/suspensions/brake upgrades, etc. Updates should be coming soon... 3 Quote Link to comment
Duncan
It looks nice in white. I like them WITH the bumpers. In the original pics, it appeared to be very straight. Nice way to start a project. 👍 1 Quote Link to comment
iceman510
I think I sold you that bumper license plate light years ago. I was wishing the other day I had it back, as I was considering that bumper style for my 69. 😁 Quote Link to comment

I prefer the look of them without it. 😁 Thanks, though! 👍 Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Picked up a set of BC Racing coilovers from a friend. They only had about 3k miles on them when I pulled them out (car was totalled in the rear), but they've been in storage for a bit... Removed the lower threaded tube, and replaced the 400lb springs with 200lb springs... Took the lower tube and welded it onto a 280ZX strut... They fit the car nicely now, but the stock 280ZX brakes looked kinda wimpy inside a 16" wheel, so thought I'd try an ugpgrade... Got some 300ZX rotors (11" vs 10" for the 280ZX), and made an adapter bracket... To mount a Brembo from a Subaru BRZ... That bracket was a temp, mainly to use as a drill guide in case I ever want to make more. I'll make a pretty/slimmer one for the final install, as well as clean and paint all this stuff. Definitely looks better with this behind the 16" wheels. Will post a pic once it is together for good.👌 Edited April 6 by datsunfreak 4 Quote Link to comment
