Datsunblue72
Hi I have a Datsun 510 1972 blue bird we did L20B motor swap and I would like to know what brackets and where I can get motor mount brackets that fit it right Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
You need the brackets from the car, not from the motor. Quote Link to comment
iceman510
Yes, so use the rubber mounts and brackets from the L16 original engine if you have them. It will sit higher since the L20B is taller, so understand that will be normal. Quote Link to comment
john510
You need the stock L-16 mounts or the valve cover may hit the hood. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I think it will simply bolt right onto the L16 brackets and isolators and fit. Lots of people have swapped L20Bs and you never hear much about the fit. The right engine bracket is unique to the 510 however the left one is also shared with the 521. The L20-B is exactly 2cm or 3/4" taller than the L16/18 so assuming you had an L16 originally, just fit the L20B onto the brackets and rubber isolators. Put a lump of clay on the valve cover (highest point?) or maybe the air filter and slowly close the hood. I wouldn't buy rubber isolators as they are often thicker than stock In a pinch, oval the bottoms of the two pair of holes on the engine brackets. This will allow the engine to sit slightly lower. Look at your steering cross rod through the full steering range and front cross member for enough clearance to allow this. Quote Link to comment
