Isnt anything special. Its was was avail at the time I think I'm using the same cam.... I liked the power range its ment for... I have another used cam I have debated on sending out for a more aggressive grind... 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The stock cam is 248 duration but I doubt this is measured at 0.050" lift like all after market cam grinders. I suspect it's more like 220? Stock lift is 0.413" on the L20B cam. 1 Quote Link to comment

I am bummed they’re not that beefy but it’s my first build and these motors are easy to work on. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
115 PS for the L18SSS. PS is a metric HP equal to 113 HP. Dual SUs and 9.5 compression with a closed chamber 219 head. The L16SSS was 100PS This is likely a gross or brake HP measurement not allowing for drive train losses of around 17%. 113HP would be around 93 at the wheels? about the same an an L20B at the wheels? 1 Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
After may years dynoing blueprinted L16s for SCCA ITC racing, we figured that the "96hp" advertised was flywheel horsepower, no air pump and SU carbs. So basically SSS form. 1 Quote Link to comment
