I bought it cause the title of the image said 80-81 720. I was half asleep when I bought it. Woke up this morning to look at it since it delivered and eBay says it won't fit my truck. I am curious cause it looks exactly like the one I have now. Here it is. The electronics are different but the drive looks the same... I think one uses a remote hei unit and the other has the box on the distributor... '80-'81 A10 (HL510) had the Z20S engines and used pretty much the same 4 spark plug distributor as the '79 matchbox. However the '80 California was 8 plug. For '81 ALL were 8 plug so Cardone is.... Same with the S110 (200sx) as above. '80s were 4 plug and 8 plug if California. ALL changed to 8 plug for '81 and on. Wrong again Cardone. If four plug it will work only on the '80 720. If you read me the part number stamped into the side I can identify what it's off of. It starts 22100-????? Its off of my 1980 720 l20B engine. I'd assume its stock as everything else on the truck was stock. The number is as following; DK48-08 0602 22100-B9802 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike Posted June 28, 2023 Report Share Posted June 28, 2023 There are '80 federal 4 plug Z20 distributors that are virtually the same as the L series matchbox. There's even one on the 210 which has a drive gear on the bottom. The roll pin is removed to get the gear off and an L series collar installed. They are out there. Quote Link to comment
