My 1970 Datsun 2000 engine block is been signed by Vern W.

Without a last name it's going to be tough. There was a pretty famous mechanic Vern Colvin building roadster and 510 for Bob Sharp back in the 60-80s.

my brother-in-law is named Vern and the way I talk when in hurry is sometimes not easily understood … so I could innocuously say “know what I mean?” 
during that time when that was popular. 
 

He would just about have a mental breakdown
