MaddieCycle
'86 KC 4x4 Deluxe with Z24, 5 speed. I noticed some kind of solenoid plumbed into the hard brake lines on the firewall on the passenger side, it has a bleeder fitting. Anyone have any idea what this is? 1 Quote Link to comment
bottomwatcher
Line lock. Press on brake pedal to pressurize brakes activate solenoid brake pressure held. I am guessing used as a hill holder. Manual ones are usually anti theft. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Really old tech drag racing. Usually to lock the front wheels to keep car stationery while the rear tires are spun to warm them up. Now they use a water box. Can also be used at the line to load the rear tires on an automatic. Very bad idea to use as an e-brake. 1 Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Bad idea because they burn out, or drain the battery, or both. There is an industrial application which is used on airport runway tugs, and I've tried using them, but they burn out too. 1 Quote Link to comment
