Manykarma
Ok, so I just found out that the Z18 engine existed lol. I’m still learning of all the engine these truck came with. I love the way the valve cover looks with the Nissan Turbo lettering. Would I be able to swap my steel Z24 valve cover to the Z18 one? I just bought an aluminum Nissan Z valve cover but I kind of want to sell it now and buy the Turbo one. Are there any fitment issues or differences? Also, the one I want to get seems Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
There are no differences. Heads are same shape. I think spiff has one in his z22 turbo Quote Link to comment
Logical1
Just an fyi, the aluminum valve covers and the stamped steel ones do not use the same gasket. The aluminum ones use a flat cork gasket and the steel ones use a solid rubber shaped gasket which is vastly superior IMO. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The bolts are longer on all cast aluminum covers than the steel ones. I suspect that the Z18 uses basically an old L18 block and internals, just like the Z20 uses basically an L20B block and crankshaft. Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
The Z20/22 aluminum valve covers use the same bolts as the L16/18/20 valve covers and the same as the inline 6 cylinder aluminum valve covers. 1 Quote Link to comment
SLO720
You will have to source a valve cover from overseas. Most commonly seen in Japan or Australia expect to pay $250++ 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Australia may have one but it would have been imported. Z18ET was a Japanese domestic option. I think they look cool. 1 Quote Link to comment
