mike
Sweet, the pics worked!!! Is this a common head? I was looking for a close chamber but came across this on a decent L20 with an uncracked block that I could probably run as is but it looks to have minor scarring on one of the cylinder walls. Not bad but not optimal. I was thinking on putting a z22 rotating assembly (pistons, crank and rods) in the L20 block and figured that this head would keep a friendly compression ratio with the flat top pistons from the z22. Any info on the head would be cool. Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
Well, a U67 is probably one of the more common Datsun heads, as it was used on all '75-77 L20Bs Find a U60 head and we'll talk (it's the one casting I have never seen, and I've even seen the Cast Iron L-series head). datzenmike
Mike, an LZ-22 with that U67 open head and stock 9.32cc dished pistons will have a compression of 9.8 to 1. If you can find flat top pistons the compression jumps to a monster 11.44 to 1!!! Quote Link to comment
