2nd i want to ditch the power brake booster because

my motor really wont create enough vacume for it to work.

would either like to know how to convert these to manual

or is there an easy conversion?

If that is equipped with factory front disc brakes it is either a 78 or 79. The factory 78/79 style caliper design is marginal when they are working good. An easy upgrade is using the later design hardbody parts, including the spindles. They entire brake/spindle assembly will bolt on.

Search the archives, they details of this have been discussed many time before.

I am not sure about the conversion to 5 lug, you might be on your own there. However, if i was looking at doing that, i would get the hardbody assemblies and see if maybe some 300zx hubs/rotors fit the spindles. Maybe the right sizes and offsets, maybe you get lucky.

If the emissions sticker :lol: is still there and the hood hasn't been swapped :lol: the year should be on it. There might be a tag on the door post giving the build date... if it's late '77 it would have to be a '78 model year, '79 would only be a '79. Being made in '78 doesn't help. Look beside the windshield glass for evidence of where the radio aerial is/was... the '78 was on the passenger side, the '79 was on the driver's side.

For manual brakes just disconnect and plug the vacuum line. I would leave it as you'll need every bit of help clamping those binders on when you need it.

Stay with 6 bolt and use Chev 15" truck rims.(pretty sure Chev and (or) Ford) Aftermarket rims for them come in huge widths.
