sdsurf
Look at these pics and compare the second one to yours. Is this the right cover over the body? note where screw is pointing. thanks Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Ill look at mine tomorrow & compare. Quote Link to comment
datsunfish
Notice the fuel pump on the left. There is the same gig on the other side just not tapped out. Those are unused port blanks for an opposite version. Using the same cast to some extent. Its fine. Quote Link to comment

The Hitachi is giving me grief. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Sure it isn't a Holly 5200 with a Weber top on it? Quote Link to comment
Phlebmaster
I have had 4 or 5 Webers and they all looked like that. :D Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
A Holley 5200 would have the fuel pump on the other side, though. That was my first thought (well, actually that it was a DGV top on a DFV bottom) but the accel pump isn't reversed. Probably just dual-casting as mentioned above. Quote Link to comment
sdsurf
no it says dgv on the bottom, that I know! Quote Link to comment
Cuts metal like mad
manual choke, should say dgv... :D Quote Link to comment
datsunfish
Dgv top is wider than a holley and dfv. They do not fit together at all. I think the float wont even fit in there. Quote Link to comment

I think that the holley is bolted together with five bolts and the weber is bolted with six bolts. Quote Link to comment
sdsurf
I think this has been covered but are there any vacuum ports on the weber? What do I do about vacuum advance? Quote Link to comment
datsunfish
I think that the holley is bolted together with five bolts and the weber is bolted with six bolts. That too. Also the vacuum advance must be the port above the throttle plate other wise you can block em off. Edited November 21, 2008 by datsunfish Quote Link to comment
Cuts metal like mad
the port to the left of his fuel inlet(which is not used on his) that would be the fuel return , correct?? Quote Link to comment
sdsurf
is there a throttle return spring anywhere on the carb (weber)? I don't seem to have one Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
Supposed to be on the front, under the float chamber (it's a coil attached to the end of the throttle shaft). They get weak, especially if you don't have the heat shield in place. Quote Link to comment
sdsurf
this one? Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
No, other side of the carb. That's the secondary return. The primary is more of a coiled clockspring thing on the FRONT of the carb, wrapped around the main throttle plate shaft. Quote Link to comment
