tdc
hey guys! i asked over in my truck thread, but wasn't getting any bites. decided maybe giving it it's own thread might get me some answers. I was wondering if any of you know off hand what jet sizes (main and idle) and e tubes you're running in your 32/36 webers on your z22s? just looking for a base point to start. thanks! datzenmike
I assume you have a weber and believe you are experiencing a lean or rich condition possibly needing a jet change? Read ALL of this first... http://www.classicinlines.com/WeberTune.asp 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
You can pull the top of the Weber off and pull the jets out and check the size. do not mix them up encase the are different sizes. It is hard for us to tell you what jets you have. First question is it a true Weber or a China knock off. Quote Link to comment
tdc
i know the sizes i have: 140 main jets 160 secondary and 170 primary air correction jets 50 secondary and 60 primary idle jets F-50 emulsion tubes all three of my 32/36s have the same setup, and they are all actual, non-knockoff webers. this appears to be a standard setup that these carbs come with since all 3 of mine have the same sizes and all three are used and were at one point installed on different vehicles (one from a bmw 2002s, one from vw bug, and one from a z20 datsun). i've installed many webers (and others) on many different things, i'm quite familiar and confident in what i'm doing. my z22 is super lean at the moment, so i'd just like some input as to what sizes you guys run in yours so i have some baseline numbers to start with before i go and buy a range of jet sizes. thanks for the help! 1 Quote Link to comment

They are my only Weber and parts supplier. http://www.piercemanifolds.com/ 408 842-6667 One thing I forgot to mention Webers are affected by altitude. This means that at higher altitudes you need to re-jet. Quote Link to comment
tdc
yup, i used to pull over and rejet my 2002 going from reno to sf all the time, but that was a dcoe 45 and the jets are super easy to get to. ran with a little altoids tin full of jets in the glovebox. i was just hoping for a ballpark number to start with. i thought some people here might know what they were running since weber swaps are so popular. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 1 Quote Link to comment

tdc
just picked up a kit from a guy on ebay who sends you 12 jets (4 mains, 4 air, and 4 idle) of your choice for like $30. i went with 155-170 on the mains, 140-155 on the air, and 45-70 (skipping 50 and 60 since i have those). this should give me a good range to play with, and i'm sure something in there will work for me. thanks again for the help! http://www.ebay.com/itm/361191311937?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT in case you were wanting to know where i got the kit from Quote Link to comment
pishta
A buddy with an O2 guage and a 32/36 on an 80 Mazda 2.0 truck motor found 55/60 idle jet, 145/155 mains and 160/180 air correctors got him a consistent 13:1 across the board with great idle and smooth transition to power. I read that airs should be larger on the primary side and fuel should be obviously larger on the secondary but he says it pulls great now. Just a working combo for a baseline. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
13:1 was this WOT ? (wide open throttle) not so good to be so rich at part throttle and cruise. Yes tune for 15:1 idle mixture and around 14 for good mileage mixtures when in the primary and richer for secondary performance. Quote Link to comment
pishta
we got E10 gas here so Im thinking stoich for E10 is actually 14.13. IIRC Redline has gone up on idle jets 2 steps with todays crap gas for their turn key retrofit carbs. Quote Link to comment
