metalmonkey47 Posted April 13, 2016 Report Share Posted April 13, 2016 I've been in and out of Datsun stuff for the last few months, having not owned one for about 7 months. Went with Master-o-turbonics this last weekend to pick up two 521's in Atlanta. One I had actually tried to buy previously, but the owner didn't answer the door. (It got sold and wrecked, so now it's being saved.)We went a few hundred miles back and forth across the state. The second one was clapped out, but has a gold mine of cool parts. It has an L16 from a '68 510 so it has the rare valve cover, oil cap, unmarked 210 head, etc. We'll also be rescuing an L28 swapped 510 Chump Car known as 'rusty' that has been stored out of commission for a few years. Ideally, we'll be getting it ready over the following months and taking it chump car racing for the 2017 season, but that is a long way out. It will definitely be back on the race track this season though. I might have a few pictures to share if there's any interest. Thought I'd share a couple cool pictures from the weekend. Funny thing is that the owner (the idiot that wrecked it because he didn't want to fix the brakes) ended up buying a 620 (RIP soon...) pulling the motor from this truck, and giving away the 521. So it was picked up for NOTHING. However sadly it isn't my truck. Haha I just started following you on instagram. You've got some work ahead of you. Small world lol. We'll see how it does in a year or two! Nice scores, when is he getting back to the 4x4? :D He's still been on it, just lacking on updates! The driveline is mounted, engine is in place, and it has a full exo-cage. He's even got shocks and springs sitting in the corner of his workshop, which is in the basement of his new house that could potentially fit 7 Datsuns. I'm super jelly.
