datsunaholic
720 ones won't work, they have the headlight switch integrated and the wiring is entirely different. Brake lights don't go through the switch on '80-84 720s like they do on 620s. I think, but not positive, that the '79 turn signal is different because it's the only year 620 with flash-to-pass. But I'm not positive. My '79 may have had that. But it's in storage 75 miles away. Quote Link to comment
Emilio's79620
Damn everyone that has one is miles away and I don't trust the 30$ eBay ones I'll check oreillys or autozone Quote Link to comment
Emilio's79620
Thank you datsunholic Quote Link to comment
Emilio's79620
So autozone does not and oreillys said 142.99$ with lifetime warranty I'll talk to tdaaj Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Red/Blue and Red/Yellow is the flash to pass wiring. My '76 710 has the switch position for flash to pass but the wire on the plug just dead ends... there is no wire on the dash harness end to make it work. It could be made to work though. Emilio's79620
So mike would any other model datsuns turn signal switch work or which would be best to buy to tweak a bit to fit because I would try to repair mine but it's a no go the previous owner tore it up badly it's missing bearings and the little brown cardboard looking thing that the wires are sitting on it busted to hell Quote Link to comment
Emilio's79620
Or could I take parts off of a 720s to use for my 78s Quote Link to comment
Emilio's79620
Or just take a chance on a crap 30$ eBay one Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
PM tdaaj or go for the eBay one. Don't make this more difficult than it needs to be. Welcome to Datsun. 1 Quote Link to comment

hobospyder
Tdaaj is a little slow, he doesn't log in consistently the way some of us do. Just wait a couple days for tdaaj Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Tjaaj (Ted) is your best bet. He's also knowledgeable about the 620 Quote Link to comment
420n620
here I am, your 2nd bet and on Ratsun almost everyday. Plus I'm shipping items out today for other members. Not trying to make your thread a WTB turn signal switch thread but I'll sell you a switch, which one you want ? Send me a PM. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Emilio...ironically...when I was trying to trade you my turn signal switch for an eBay purchase...I was trying to get a turn signal switch for my 521. GL on getting it. Quote Link to comment
Emilio's79620
Flatcat.......You meant ignition switch Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Yeah, that. And I'm still needing a turn signal switch. Seller from eBay doesn't have one listed anymore. Quote Link to comment
Cardinal Grammeter
I didn't have time to read this entire thread, but I've fixed Horn contacts and a Wiper switch that did not work. I opened them up to find huge blocks of copper the turned green with corrosion. Polished them and all worked perfectly. If its an electrical issue, I would bet it can be fixed assuming big blocks of copper. If something mechanical is broken, may not be possible or easy. Quote Link to comment
SHAMUS'WAGON
What is the actual problem your'e having with the switch? I had to rebuild mine a couple of times before I broke down and bought one from a Ratsun member. The switch is '79 only and no one makes them inn the aftermarket. There are some parts from other year 620s that you can use, but what's the problem you're having? Quote Link to comment
