Busta Nut
Kiwi made it there and back without a hitch...... ......only issue was I couldn't top off the tank.... .....topped it off at the first stop and dumped a half gallon on the ground and continued to leak with every left turn.... ...not too bad an issue to avoid.... .........got her on the rack after we got back to readjust valves and check for any leaks..... .........not a drop  2 Quote Link to comment

Busta Nut
So for some reason this thing had a Subaru key....... .....I noticed the clamshell sat skightly crooked and when you hit the left turn signal the stroke felt shorter than right..... I had a spare layin around with a key..... 1 Quote Link to comment
Busta Nut
Surprised a Subaru lock cylinder bolts right in and harness plugs right in also..... .........steering lock even worked...... ....but it was obviously upside down....... 4 Quote Link to comment
Busta Nut
Since I had a Suby key.....it obviously didn't fit in the doors.... ......so pulled out the lock cylinders to get re-keyed to the ignition key.... 2 Quote Link to comment
Busta Nut
Anyone got a slick way to fix this?? 1 Quote Link to comment
Busta Nut
So apparently these locks do not accept a double sided key...... .....so had to key them to a single sided one..... I guess this thing should have a 69 ignition lock also..... .....any spares out there??....I hate having 2 keys.... Quote Link to comment
Busta Nut
So far I have found 1969: Door panels Seat belts Door & Ignition locks .........production is 4/70 on this baby...... Quote Link to comment
Busta Nut
Felt Kiwi needed a racing stripe..... ...she's gonna buff out nice once I get the good stuff on her...... 3 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Anyone got a slick way to fix this?? Just lay it on a flat surface and put some weight on it. Try to spread the weight evenly across the whole panel, use a board bigger than the panel to set the weights on and make sure the panel presses flat, add more weight as needed. Leave it for a week or so. If there is still some bow in it you can dampen the press board a bit and press again for a couple days to release the crease memory in the panel. The other option is to remake the press board panel and transfer the vinyl over. 2 Quote Link to comment
Draker
Forgot to look in my stash for the lock cylinder. I think I have one.. but unfortunately it's much different than the 70+. You'd be better served finding a 70+ lock kit for the rest of the car cause it won't fit in the stock location without switching out the clam shell, finding a new 69 key mount, and then you would be missing the steering wheel lock. If you do switch out the locks, I might be interested in one of those single sided cylinders depending if it will work in a trunk lid. My trunk lid is double sided and I hate it.. for the same reason. Two keys. 1 Quote Link to comment
mrbigtanker
I would just try and re glue it down since you need the curve any way and put nice screws with bigger washers on the corners to not cut in to the material. And man is she looking good. 3 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
How much arc do you need for that panel? What does a nice one look like installed? 1 Quote Link to comment
Ranman72
should have been a pink racing stripe Felt Kiwi needed a racing stripe..... ...she's gonna buff out nice once I get the good stuff on her...... 2 Quote Link to comment
Busta Nut
How much arc do you need for that panel? What does a nice one look like installed? I'll take a pic tomorrow....the other side fits perfect.... ....the drain tube fell off that side so all the water just poured on the panel over the years...... Quote Link to comment
Busta Nut
should have been a pink racing stripe  .....that might be a bit much...... ............the dull center strip is growing on me though..... ...I might leave it for a while.... 1 Quote Link to comment
