I had do research myself on sizes available and then request them from Americas Discount Tires. I have a brother in-law that manages one so maybe there was a little more patience on just a random guy asking a lot of option requests over the phone... He then researched who had it in stock and shipped it to a local store, which I believe is normal by request. 175/50/13 Nankang As-1 Before I did the front and rear swaps, I had just the fronts replaced so they didn't rub with kumihimo tires 155/70r13 I only have 5.5 wide rims to there isn't any stretch on either. graveltrapp Posted November 1, 2014 Report Share Posted November 1, 2014 Ah yes, the old brother works in a tire shop bit. I had Sumitomo 175/50/13's on my 1200 but sold them with my old wheels. They have appeared to stop importing them. Moved over to 185/60/13's . Now want them back,,, maybe. I do like having some sidewall Cush as well not feeling every small road defect not to mention the reflectors that become gigantic obstacles . Sometimes form has to put function in the back seat. We will see how much lower I can get the front after cutting down the strut tubes and then decide. Quote Link to comment
DTSUN73 Posted August 26, 2015 Author Report Share Posted August 26, 2015 So my car was down for about 6 months while the whole wiring harness was being worked on. Then I got the whole transmission rebuilt and the ujoint replaced. She's going good now, driving to work everyday again! I finally put on the front bumper that I purchased. I also removed the damaged Bumper Guard off the back. Not sure if I like it yet so bare, unprotected... 1 Quote Link to comment

As in from the start until today? $2000 as is when purchased from Reno. Hardly running +$8000ish in front suspension parts, bushings, tires, transmission rebuild, new clutch, wire work and countless misc small parts. I had taken my car in to Fitted Garage for the wire harness clean up, the entire engine harness looked liked it was twisted together in a million spots... Quote Link to comment

T3 sells a Datsun 1200 set up like their 510 conversion, it's just not listed on the website. I called and chatted with them a little for some parts. God I wish I knew this before, I just replaced my whole front end but I haven't upgraded my brakes yet. Do you know if the 280zx knuckles allow more room for wider rims? graveltrapp Posted September 10, 2015 Report Share Posted September 10, 2015 Mklotz has in the past made a kit to upgrade the brakes on the 1200, retaining the light and sufficient strut housings but adding larger disc and calipers but also fitting most 14" wheels. I have one of the kits but have not installed it. I currently use 13" wheels and feel as if the brakes are more than adequate for daily use. There is a right up on here somewhere about it. Yes, they should. It narrows your track width about 1/2" per side, so it will turn easier with less chance of clipping the fenders or rubbing the footwells. And what 13s? Most don't fit over 280ZX brakes. Also, not 280ZX knuckles. You need 210 LCAs, steering knuckles, outer tie rods and TC rods. Then get 280ZX struts/brakes. Mklotz has in the past made a kit to upgrade the brakes on the 1200 What do you think is on my 1200 right now? :P But that was for ease of install, and because A15. Were I running a bigger engine, I'd have gone 280ZX without a second thought. retaining the light and sufficient strut housings but adding larger disc and calipers but also fitting most 14" wheels. The Mklotz kit actually fits a ton of 13" wheels, and probably all 14" wheels. 280ZX struts will fit almost all 14" wheels, but the 13s I have found that fit are the Diamond/Bassett racing steelies.
