MikeRL411
Martin Mars! There was once one of these craft [all too often mistaken for the Boeing China Clipper] stored on the ramp of the Naval Air Facility at the former Long Beach Naval Shipyard. It was just East of the old US Navy Automotive Repair facility that helped many of the resident swabbies, and their spouses while on deployment, to keep their older vehicles roadworhy while the mustadory state inspection came due. I used it to completly replace the exhaust system on my 1967 RL411! When the BB63 USSNew Jersey [i just might be wrong on the nomenclature] was retrofitted for Cruse Missiles, that was just about the end of the Long Beach Naval Station. A Chinesefirm has taken over the land and replace all the Navy structures with warehouse buildings The detonations of perfectly servicable Enlisted and Officer Quarters buildings were on TV in the Los Angeles local TV area. Now we have to kickthe Renta A Car parking lots, Civilian Golf Courses, and Various civil oriented US Government [like the Passport agency and FBI ] off the suppositly dedicated land that was supposed to serve the veterans of our wars! By the way, if you are a veteran, you can't be buried in the graveyard, you have to be cremated and have your ashed thrown in a 'Dedicated" dump yard. Never mind all the open acres given over to nonoriginal profit making uses! Am I bitter? Well I am78years old, and I think I have the right to bitch about this flagrant violation of President Lincoln's rational of setting aside burial grounds for honorably discharged veterans! He obviously didn't envision Practice Football fields for private College Football teams, or parking lots for Renta=A=Car firms! Pardon the bitching but it just flowed from the general topic. 2 Quote Link to comment

MikeRL411
Given the size of the cannon, I wonder if this is a Cobra or a King Cobra? The partially visible body markings hints at US Army Air Forces, not Russian registration. Is that a WASP delivery pilot? 3 Quote Link to comment

Fresh from the Bell Aircraft line, this is indeed a Cobra and yes, that is a W.A.S.P. pilot ready to wring it out in the sky 2 Quote Link to comment
