I got the Nismo Head gasket 1104-A7651.

I bought all the gaskets needed to put the engine together.

I found few things I needed at pick and pull a week or two ago.

1 X U67 L20B head with a cam and head bolts (not stretched)
1 X L20B point distributor (Going to switch it over)
1 X L 20 B valve cover

Head looks good but needs to be ported,

and there looks to be some valve seals failing.

So this is what happens when your timing chain snaps!

Holy shit!

Had the engine flushed and nothing inside it.

Oh did I say, a timing chain with 2 extra links. It is the one needed for the L head to fit on the Z block 22 block.

Looks like he's reserving space so we have harder time getting between posts and messing up his train of thought.

I look around and could not find any info on this setup.

I am not building a race engine.
I have one now!
I don't like it in my daily driver!

My goal is more bottom end torque for climbing up and down hills in the morning when I am driving the kids to school.
On flat ground the Long rod L18 works awesome and on the freeway.
I can sprint from 75 mph to 95 in no time.
Means?
I pass lots of people when driving.

There is lots of info around here on that set-up.....

If you don't drill those holes into the deck you will have premature wear on the pistons and cylinder walls

If you show me a all stock bottom end and L20 / U67 head, they can delete this thread!

All of them have this or thank cran and this or that rods and pistons.

I am not building a track or high rev engine.

Yes, Sealik: I have seen all of your post.

My block must have come as a Z22S because I the same holes to drill.

Your block!

You look really young to be building an engine... :P

Good on you for getting some work out of the youngins. Can't wait to get my son out there under his roadster.

I let him do the intake and exhaust on the L18.

He did such a good job, I let him clean that one up too.

I have worked on a sub, lived in a tunnel, spent the night in a tower more than 100 feet up, gone a hundred feet deep free diving and can drive or fly just about anything in the sky.

Son is not even impressed!

So when , he asked about what I was doing.

I took off the safety gear and showed him and then let him do it.

I failed him as a parent for a couple mins.

Oh well.

Now, I already started porting the head on the U67.
Doing intake first is easier.
To me.
But that is as far as I have gotten.
Because, I need to focus on getting the L18 black in my car.

I got side tracked!

Once I am done with this then it is finish building.

I was going to paint my car , but looks like I am building a newer engine to replace the L18.

Also I need to get some GSXR carbs!
But this project has to be completed this weekend before wife gives me money for the next one!

To early to be drinking unless it's just late for you.

Was I collecting my pictures and thoughts!

I am interested in what you think

Do you awesome I can get a real nice daily driver out of this setup?

Will I be torn to looking for something bigger?

That L18 runs great and is very powerful, but I barely get to 40 mph most of the time.
