Disc Brakes (620 truck)

I was out at our local junkyard this week and found a 78 620 with disc brakes. I was just wondering if I can replace the drums on my 73 620 with these disc brakes? Anyone know?

Can it be done? Yes

Is it "easy"? Not really

Front suspension for your truck is king pin and the "newer" models are balljoint. It can be done and there are some kits out there or just switch the whole front suspension out. More folks will chime in surely

I believe I read they don't swap over..

No they won't, you need to buy a bracket to convert to disk brakes

A bracket or custom upper control arms.

This is the second most commonly asked question and covered dozens of times. There are several ways and many methods using several disc brake designs. It would take 20 pages to cover it all and only you know what you want.
