datzenmike
I think he means to tape up the unused red wire so it doesn't touch anything. As I said the red goes to and powers the lighting switch so makes me wonder how the lights are working at all? Quote Link to comment

mattmctree@gmail.com
weird. all the headlights and signals work? ill have a look and seen if there is any jimmy rigged wiring. the original harness only had green and black. there is another wired connected to the battery a red one with a fuse in line that im assuming is for the lights. odd but im sure ill figure it out. millican
If it has a fuse inline, that's more promising than some of the stuff I've seen people do. Quote Link to comment
millican
If you have/had the same problem, I'd be surprised. It's possible, but it seems unlikely that bolts would just fall out like that very often. I'm interested in hearing how things turn out. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I think you need to start a project thread for your 720. Then all these questions and answers could be put in it instead of all over. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/50469-engine-swapping/ http://community.ratsun.net/topic/50824-what-does-the-fuel-relay-look-like-i-think-i-pulled-the-wrong-part-out/ http://community.ratsun.net/topic/50644-ive-got-and-84-720-what-years-of-trucks-can-i-scavenge-parts-from/ http://community.ratsun.net/topic/52167-finally-got-my-truck-inside-now-looking-for-frame-rot-where-do-i-start/ http://community.ratsun.net/topic/52327-what-is-the-thickness-of-a-720-frame/ http://community.ratsun.net/topic/55396-need-advice-on-transmission/ http://community.ratsun.net/topic/56720-how-do-i-identify-my-transmission/ http://community.ratsun.net/topic/56487-having-trouble-getting-transmission-in/ http://community.ratsun.net/topic/57446-fusible-link-on-battery-cable/ Some questions are asked in more than one post and if answered in one isn't visible to other readers of the second post. It can get quite confusing with multiple answers. 1 Quote Link to comment
mattmctree@gmail.com
ok cool> not the best with computers. how do i start a project thread Quote Link to comment
mattmctree@gmail.com
not being very wise with computers i have been asking numerous different question about my project truck with out starting a thread. i just learned what one was. so here it goes. i bought a 84 720 4x4 kc about 2 years ago for 900 bucks, its had been sitting in a barn for 15 years. being a bit of a newbie to auto mechanics i thought it would be a good way to learn and have a cool truck when done. so far i have not done much with it as it sat in a feild for a year and a half. i replaced the clutch, slave cylinder, starter. i drained the old fuel and put it a new fuel filter and got it to fire up . i need to bled the clutch a bit better as it is still spongy, a pain when by myself. i found some frame rot so my next step is to pull the bed and scrape the frame down to see how bad it is. the engine runs really rough, im sure most of the vacuum tubes are shot, i was thinking of replacing the hitachi with a weber for simplicity but have not decided yet. Once i get a digital camera i will post some picks. Quote Link to comment
wayno
 Where is the frame rot you found? Quote Link to comment
mattmctree@gmail.com
it is behind the cab pretty much where the leaf spring mount is. i bought a welder so hopefully i can fix it. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
All previous question posts about your 720 are now under this one roof. You will find it much easier to look up past posts for content as well as the questions. This is now your Project and most questions should be asked and kept here. I realize that some questions will fall outside this post and might be better asked in the General or Technical forums, but best if possible to keep here. Quote Link to comment

mattmctree@gmail.com
well as i am looking to move and havent had much time to work on my truck i ended up selling it the other day. i learned alot from the work i did on it so i dont totally consider it a loss. i ended up selling it for 1350. he put 500 down and is going to tow it back to his place and once he pays the rest i will sign the ownership over to him. the guy who bought it is going to work on it with his grandpa who used to have one in el salvador. im glad its going to a good home. hope in the near future after moving i can find myself a patrol. datzenmike
Well I have to say never let it out of your hands until paid in full. What if he yanks the motor and sells it to buy a KA and then something happens. You finally get it back hacked and in (missing) pieces. Seen this before. 1 Quote Link to comment
