Bambino
Does anyone know, if I can get a weber carb for my 620 and still do smog??! Or it's not possible and, I'm just stuck with the stock carb. messing up all the time haha Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
I don't think you'd pass the NOx emissions with a Weber carb unless your jetting was literally perfect, or a little lean. I've never heard of someone passing smog on a Weber, but I suppose it's possible if the rest of the equipment is in good shape and the carb isn't jetted rich. Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
It won't even pass the visual unless it's a CARB certified Weber, which for a Datsun was only the 34DFT + Stock air cleaner. Good luck finding the 34DFT though, been out of production a while. Quote Link to comment

Janksun
I believe you can get a brand new stock carb for these... Quote Link to comment
Janksun
Maybe not. Thought I saw one on eBay the other day. Maybe read through this. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/57091-passing-smog/ Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
You can certainly re-build one, even if you have to mix 'n match parts from several carbs to do so. Carb re-building is not rocket science. Just allow yourself a full morning uninterrupted, lots of work space, take pictures have a quality carb kit and everything ready. Quote Link to comment
Janksun
Carb kits on eBay run like 20-30 bucks Quote Link to comment
Seeker > 620 KC
DZMike, What brand do you consider a high quality carb kit? And what makes it so? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Around $30. Should always have an accelerator pump as this is usually the most worn out part and makes the biggest improvement on a carb build. The second biggest improvement is simply cleaning it. Gaskets are usually reusable but good new ones are fine. Should have a new inlet needle valve. Should have thorough instructions (and good pictures) for setting choke un-loader, choke fast idle and best of all thick cardboard float drop adjustment gauges. Quote Link to comment
