L20B Head dilemmas; Rebuild? Swap? Cam?

Regarding the gasket, in every car I can possibly run it in, I only run Remflex exhaust gaskets. They are pricey but you will not leak unless it's your fault on installation. These things will make up some serious gap and seal hardcore. If you need a custom install and your good with a razor and punches, they also sell blank sheets.

So far, so good with my Felpro gasket. 

 

Curious... they suggest 20 ftlbs of torque on this gasket.  The stock torque setting is 8.7-11.6 ftlbs.  It's my understanding that torque setting is all about the diameter and threads on the bolts/studs.

20 ftlbs is their "nominal torque" for everything across the board.

Yeah that looks good.  I should probably weld the exterior flange/tubes when I remove it to re-route the down pipe and put on a ball and socket connector.

I can't comment on the individual plugs, but I was looking at the fully welded flange plate versus the tack welded original version.

Correct.

 

Syncronizers and vacuum are great for dual carbs, however nothing beats a wideband setup to validate everything is burning correctly, especially on the fly. I will use all three for final tuning though.

Smokey Unick did this back in the 60s but the holes have to be smaller and closer to the head so you can actually see the flame. This won't be good for that except for a wide band.
