KlassicMotion
Regarding the gasket, in every car I can possibly run it in, I only run Remflex exhaust gaskets. They are pricey but you will not leak unless it's your fault on installation. These things will make up some serious gap and seal hardcore. If you need a custom install and your good with a razor and punches, they also sell blank sheets. Here's the Datsun / Nissan link: http://catalog.remflex.com/category_s/50.htm I might have to try that some time. So far, so good with my Felpro gasket. Curious... they suggest 20 ftlbs of torque on this gasket. The stock torque setting is 8.7-11.6 ftlbs. It's my understanding that torque setting is all about the diameter and threads on the bolts/studs. Quote Link to comment
oldskoolvws
20 ftlbs is their "nominal torque" for everything across the board. Quote Link to comment
oldskoolvws
Here's some pics of the header. You be the judge (before only, not my ugly ass stuff). The collector welds are good from them though. Quote Link to comment
KlassicMotion
Yeah that looks good. I should probably weld the exterior flange/tubes when I remove it to re-route the down pipe and put on a ball and socket connector. 1 Quote Link to comment
wayno
For some reason I missed something, so I am going to ask, why was this done to the header. Here's some pics of the header. KlassicMotion
I can't comment on the individual plugs, but I was looking at the fully welded flange plate versus the tack welded original version. Quote Link to comment

oldskoolvws
Old school stoic testing. Correct. Syncronizers and vacuum are great for dual carbs, however nothing beats a wideband setup to validate everything is burning correctly, especially on the fly. I will use all three for final tuning though. 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Old school stoic testing. . Smokey Unick did this back in the 60s but the holes have to be smaller and closer to the head so you can actually see the flame. This won't be good for that except for a wide band. Quote Link to comment
