sick620
Has any one had a datsun bed done professionaly at a line x (or similar)? Wondering what I should be expecting to pay to have my datsun done, and if the quote I get is reasonable. Quote Link to comment

]2eDeYe
Prep, prep, prep....and more prep. Then clean, a bunch and maybe a little more.Any of the 'bedliner' products need real good prep or it can peel of in places. Do it right and the herculiner works great. Don't rub your knuckles on it once it's dried though  2 Quote Link to comment

Be sure to shake the can tho, so the little gritty stuff gets mixed in there good. toherwise it sits at the bottom.... youll end up painting the bed black except the last 10% will have the little gritty stuff in it. Laecaon
After working at a truck shop, Herculiner looks like crap, but still better than most spray ins. Rhinoliner is hideous, and it seems very inconsistent. And its so lumpy. LineX is very consistent, and lasts a good long time. My shop sprays Arma, which is nearly identical to LineX, so much so my sprayer can match the texture to any LineX spray job. Turboliner tends to feel like Skateboard Grip tape. My shop charges a flat fee of $399, long or short bed. We do price match though. I wouldnt do anything but LineX or Arma in a truck bed. On average, I work on about 5 trucks a day, I have seen the gamut of bedliners. 1 Quote Link to comment

Laecaon
Does your shop offer color liners? We do... but you have to order the whole barrel... we would never sell colors too well. Quote Link to comment
Tristin
We do... but you have to order the whole barrel... we would never sell colors too well. Well thats lame... I dont need enough to do 5 trucks haha, but I understand the reasoning. Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
Well thats lame... I dont need enough to do 5 trucks haha, but I understand the reasoning. Just get five ratsuners that want the same color that you do. Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Just get five ratsuners that want the same color that you do. Way too much effort in that. Ill stick to black or go without. Its not that important. Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
My shop also will do custom stuff. We had so guy have us spray the entire undercarriage of his bare shell of a Blazer. Rocker guard has been done. Inside a sprinter van. All the silver trim on a customers truck. I got a friends pistol grips sprayed (for free). I REALLY do not suggest it for engine bays. It absorbs heat, and will greatly increase underhood temps. Quote Link to comment

A friend used to take his wheeler in and got it sprayed like a paint job. The shop offeres a lifetime warranty on the spray so every time he chips it rock crawling, he just goes back in for a free spray after he knocks all the dents back out. 1 Quote Link to comment
sick620
Called the shop. they want 399 out the door. Sounds good to me. :) .... I dont want to do it myself because I want it prepped correctly so I can be sure to head off my surface rust before it becomes more than that... Quote Link to comment
