Always been a sucker for the tub 356. I was heart broken when Chip Foose hacked up a super clean 356 S and a 50s VW then swapped the rear widows. No doubt he is a talented guy, but what was he thinking on this one? IMO, he seriously fucked this car up a tree. Textbook example of just because you can doesn't mean you should. Doing something like this to a classic Porsche shows arrogance or ignorance, but I really don't think Chip is either. After that bad ass Lutus Elan he did, I thought the man couldn't miss, but DAMN this doesn't work for me. What do you think?

I think he may have been trying to mimic this car. 1948 356 Gmund Coupe.

For me, where chip's design fails is the window is way too small making it disproportionate to the body and grill. Besides the size, the shape of the VW rear glass is simplistic, oval, and too docile for a sports car. The tail lights and exhaust tips are way too big and moving the plate under the bumper make the rear end look bloated, doubty, and almost cartoonish.

I like it. But I don't believe in "sacred cows". In the end, that's a very subtle mod that for the most part only a Porsche enthusiast would notice. That is his specialty.

Well, that and garish wheels.   ^_^

So you'd let chip put a 240 rear window in your 1200 Coupe then?
