blueridgespeed Posted September 10, 2008 Report Share Posted September 10, 2008 As mentioned a few posts back, rebuilding the hinges is definitely the way to go. I did that all around on a 510 4-door and is was a HUGE difference. There is a NAPA part # out there somewhere (I don't remember it but you can find it - I think DimeQuarterly...) The kit has bronze bushings which are great, and a new pin if needed - you have to cut the pins down IIRC. When you get the last few gremlins out, rebuild that spare hinge set you took out. It will be somethinig you're glad you did. Makes door alignment/tuning SO much easier, and dramatically affects the "loose rattly old car" factor. Latches work much better, doors close better when the strikers don't need to lift the door up 1/8 inch as they shut.... Quote Link to comment
