angliagt
Went to pull the steering wheel off of the GX.The factory shop manual says to "pull the cover off".I got the soft cover off,but can't get the hard plastic one under it to come off. Is there a trick to this? - Doug Quote Link to comment
RedBanner
Disconnect the horn, then press the center in and twist it off Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
The "center' is the soft one. Push & twist/rotate then straight off. Not sure what you mean by "hard cover" After you get the center horn button off, remove the large Nut, then use a steering wheel puller to remove the wheel. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Disconnect the horn, then press the center in and twist it off What he said. Took me forever to figure that out... Quote Link to comment
angliagt
Itried twisting it & turning it,but it won't budge. - Doug Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
You have to push it IN, really hard, then it twists off. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
A lot of guys have broken the horn button pulling it off -- don't use any force to pull it off. Use the force to push it down. So be careful ... one of those wheels sold for $135 on eBay. Quote Link to comment
RedBanner
Hahahaha I always see em broke , some one pulls the " soft cover " rubber from the horn button. Wich is really hard, I know because I learned how they work by ripping one to pieces lol. Push in hard and and slowly gently twist it both ways it should just turn and plop off. Last month I was forcefully filling people's cars with gx wheels lol. I had like 10 of them and thought they where a sought after item. Turns out there not. Sold a mint condition one for 40$. Gave the rest away. Might have flooded the market lol Quote Link to comment
angliagt
Is it clockwise,or counterclockwise? I can't believe this is becoming "brain science"! - Doug Quote Link to comment
B210GX
counterclockwise lock the steering wheel with the key out of the ignition. 1 Quote Link to comment
RedBanner
Yeah lock the column, great idea. Can't rememberc which way, never can but just push and twist back and forth. And use a wheel puller don't hammer on the steering wheel nut. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
They are not sought after, you have to put LOOK @Y@ and RARE GX in the title of your ad. Then people will do an impulse buy. I kid you not. Just like the B that sold for $8900 this week, while other better coupes sold for far less money. Quote Link to comment
king bee66
id like to see this 9000$ B. you have a link or pictures? Quote Link to comment
angliagt
Dave, Did you mean that 1200? - Doug Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Yes, the B110. Quote Link to comment
0r0B210
Once the idX comes out, our B's are gonna be sought after. Looks more like the B than a 510, in my opinion. Thanks for the lesson on the wheel removal. Just got mine, the leatherette(lol) wrap- according to techwiki. ILR! -Octavio Quote Link to comment
