FiveSeventyZee
whats with the fittings and whatnot welded onto the valve cover? is it for a catch can or something? anyone know? Quote Link to comment
Dat Lurka
No clue... Maybe they're feeding oil directly to the valve train. Maybe they're engine just needed tits. I really don't know. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Some kind of musical instrument made out of a VVT head? Quote Link to comment
H5WAGON
Spray bar up inside? X2 What site did you find this on? Quote Link to comment
Ben280
Its from Engineered To Slide (his s13) Site is worth checking out, he's building a drift Hilux from scratch. Tube frame and everything! I've seen this done to a few SR/RB valve covers, it has something to do with the breathers in the valve cover and making them better/stronger. Not sure of the logic behind them, but the ETS guy has them on both of his SR motors. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Post link? That is some crazy work into that valve cover. Quote Link to comment
TFM1066
The fitting are for the oil/crank case breathers, when you race on any type of pavement drag, drift, road race all over flow fluids must drain into some type of can. these would fitting would go to something like this. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mor-85465/overview/ Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Catch can sure, but why build them into the valve cover, rather than using a separate can? Quote Link to comment
FiveSeventyZee
yeah it's from engineered to slide. I'll try to find the link for it. yeah catch can is all that makes sense but why the raised sections.....that's what throws me... Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
Probably raised so there can be a baffle inside. Don't know why the funny angle and extreme height, I'd think there'd be clearance issues. Quote Link to comment
DaBlist
I vote for baffled breathers that will go to a remote catch can. Not sure why there is two though, must be some serious stuff going on there. Quote Link to comment
