Dat Lurka
The E just means electric choke right? I like manual just fine. Cheap is too expensive. I'm back to homeless, jobless, and semi carless. Been spending what's left of my money trying to make money :frantics: I got a place to sleep for now so all is well. Once I get highway ready I'm supposed to be going to FL to help my family with some things. So tired of 3 steps forward 2 steps back. I'm about to let some stuff go REALLY cheap so I can buy things I need like a weber and some gear oil. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
well if float bowl is empty fix that first. If and when the float bowl is full then hit the pump and see if it squirts or just drips out. Then I woudl say that is bad also. Maybe time to sell the datsun if things that bad. Broke(NO MONEY) and a car thaT NEEDS ALOT OF WORK IS NOT A GOOD THING Quote Link to comment

Dat Lurka
That helped a ton. Still losing fuel at high rpm. I think the pump is bad. BTW I found this on rockauto. This is the pump that's by my tank. I'm gonna see if it works http://www.rockauto.com/getimage/getimage.php?imagekey=481998&imageurl=http%3A//www.beckcatalog.com/bin/images/Beckarnley/152/BA1520741-1.jpg The mechanical pumps have DOUBLED in price on rockauto so I'm gonna look around. That one ^ is 169$ Quote Link to comment
Sealik
http://www.rockauto....BA1520741-1.jpg I wouldn't even bother......most after market pumps are garbage compared to OE Go to the local wrecker and find an electric pump out of a 720 or...?....low miles if possible. Unscrew the base of pump...make sure it's clean 20+ bucks????......probably get 200K miles out of it http://community.rat...__fromsearch__1 Also......sometimes electric pumps are just replaced because the ground/connection is MIA and or the filter in the bottom of the pump is plugged. Some owners have no clue..... Maybe it's still good.......bench test it. Quote Link to comment
Dat Lurka
I hooked cleaned the connection and plugged it in. It was pumping, but not pumping. Took the bottom cap off (in pieces) and it was TRASHED inside. Put the magnet on my fridge and threw the pump in scrap pile  Just gonna have to beg for cash till I can get a pump <_< Life is hard, yo. why did my truck have an electric pump in 77'? Is it because it had A/C ? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
That is the '79 type used with air also on all 720. It would be on the outside of the frame just forward of the pass side rear wheel. Yours is a '77 so someone put it on. Quote Link to comment

It sure looked factory. So what do you think Mike? Did my pump go bad? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Have you replaced the filter that is inside the pump? I had one of those on my truck but the new engine has a mechanical pump. Quote Link to comment
