cjzeppy
A friend just found a FWD bluebird SR20DET for dirt cheap. Comes with 2 transmission (FWD I guess) and the full wiring harness with the ecu. If I were to find a RWD transmission that would bolt up to the SR20 would it work? Quote Link to comment
Tristin
No. If you search on any 510 forum this has been talked about a billion times and will talk about the specifics of why it wont be worth it. Quote Link to comment
cjzeppy
Is there a specific reason, or are they completely different engines? Quote Link to comment
Tristin
If you search Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
For one the CAS would hit the firewall? Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
For one more, different bell housing bolt patterns. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Motor mounts? Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Not to mention intake and water passages point to the firewall as well. None of this is new information. You'll get the EJ from your Subaru to fit before a FWD SR or KA will. Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Distributor on the wrong side. Oil pan. Blah blah blah Datsun. Quote Link to comment

flatcat19
Go KA. Cheaper than SR. Or keep it L. Looks better than both. Or go LZ. Just for shits and giggles. 1 Quote Link to comment
cjzeppy
I think I will look for a KA24de. But I want to restore the car before I start thinking about performance. Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Or keep it L. Looks better than both. Opinion 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
And then? The L is a sexy little machine. End all status? No. Neat? Sho nuff. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
just keep it running as it sounds like you really have no money Quote Link to comment
dennis
lol KA if you are low on a budget and want more power than a mild L. I dont think you can do a nice SR swap for under 10k in expenses. This is to do it nicely done, no junkyard parts. With JY parts you can probably squeek in at 4k. Quote Link to comment
