SoCal Rotarito
Awesome!!! Another rotary 510 in the house!!! Make sure to get a griffin aluminum radiator and a Zirgo electric fan 16" 3630 cfm. This is the best cooling combo for rotary engine 510 and keep that rotary driving at 165 to 180 Fahrenheit degree cold weather and 190F to 195F normal at 80 degree weather. Racing or 115 degree weather heat at 200F to 220F degree for a rotary is normal. Over heating rotary starts at 230F degree and thats on a turbo motor with a NA (natural aspirated) motor your definitely run cooler! Drove my car to Datsun meet at Mount Shasta, CA at 110 degree weather and up hill. Engine heat only at 205F. Not bad after driving 9 hours and 615 miles at average speed of 90 mph most time over. As always with a strong engine up-grade your brake system. Nice build for sure! Lots of rotary hater but they can't deny that it is very reliable and its proven in the Le Mans 24 hours race in 1991. The only Japanese Mazda rotary engine manufacturer to win in Le Mans 24 Hours race. Nissan and Toyota is still trying to win the Le Mans to this day. Although the 787 and 787B lacked the single lap pace of World Championship competitors such as Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, and Porsche, as well Japanese Championship competitors Nissan and Toyota, the Mazdas had reliability which allowed them to contend for their respective championships. The reliability of the cars eventually paid off in 1991 when a 787B driven byJohnny Herbert, Volker Weidler, and Bertrand Gachot went on to victory in the 1991 24 Hours of Le Mans. This remains as of 2012 the only victory by a Japanese marque as well as the only victory by a car not using a reciprocating engine design. http://www.summitrac...s/gri-2-28185-x http://www.ebay.com/...6550892&vxp=mtr Quote Link to comment
