A problem I have found with 521 tail lights is this. The grounds go bad.

Originally, on a new 521, the battery grounded to the engine, the engine grounded to the frame, the frame grounded the bed, and the bed grounded the tail lights.

Over the years, some of those grounds may have gone bad, or have been removed by previous owners.

It will show you how to check the ground of the tail lights, and what to do to fix it.

i need help on trying to get my tail lights working correctly. and schematics that i can print out and get a better bigger quality picture layout would be helpful. it is for my 521 pickup

I sent you them taillight housings a while ago, as you know, they are plastic, so the bulb holders that plug into the housings have a ground wire coming out of them, them wires ground to the frame that holds the plastic taillight housings, I am talking about the metal frame that holds the tailight lenses onto the taillight housing.

In the photo of the wiring below, you can see the bulb holders, and there is the 2 wires coming together to a eyelet, that is the ground wire.

In the next photos, you can see where that wire eyelet bolts to, and when that housing complete, bolts to the truck box, it completes the ground.
