Dirttrack510
That's an interesting piece, but i need the stock dual su intake. That one is REALLY MODIFIED! It's kinda neat though. Link to comment
Sealik
Just what the Title says. Does it???? I assumed that there might be regulations pertaining to parts used in 'racing'..???? Anywho...I have a Lynx D1600 4 bolt flange...originally came from Australia, 'now' with 46mm SUs on it http://community.ratsun.net/topic/28984-sus-setups/page__hl__%2Bclean+%2Bsus__st__40 Post #50 Link to comment

ggzilla
The 4-bolt hitachis are the Emission carbs, debuted in 1975. Not to be confused with the 1973-1975 flat-tops. Here are some pics. These are the 38mm, not the Z-car 46mm. triangle-flange hitachi 4-bolts They have chokes on them just like a downdraft carb (unlike SU-type carbs) These have the chokes removed Link to comment
datzenmike
ones i have arnt SU as such, it's the Hitatchi (i think) version the sets are from 1980's 180B SSS and are more aqure at top. I'll grab some pics I wondered why you wouldn't call them SUs. Not a lot of Skinners Union carbs here. Old Volvos and MGs mostly. We call the Hitachi made SUs ... SUs. Some may not even know where the original SU even came from. I have a set of flattop (Hitachi) SUs from an SSSL16/18 that probably were on a used import engine from Japan. Here the 18-B was known as the 810 which became the Maxima later. It had the L24 motor not unlike the 240z car but with EFI. It was also stretched in the front fot the longer inline six. You lads had the long FS5W63A dogleg 5 speeds in them. Link to comment
ggzilla
Old Volvos and MGs came with Skinner's Union carbs on them ... not sure where you were going with that. Mike, your photo looks like the early Hitachi flat-tops. The 810 SSS four-cylinder in Japan did not come with twin hitachis, but * EFI L18E SSSE * single-carb L18S SSS * single-carb Z18S SSS Link to comment
datzenmike
Not a lot of Skinners Union carbs here. Old Volvos and MGs mostly. I meant the only (real) SUs here were on Volvo and MGs. Not that common. Hitachi made SUs were more common. Link to comment
datzenmike
Mike, your photo looks like the early Hitachi flat-tops. They were on the L16/18 SSS right? Link to comment
ggzilla
The later SSS (1973 and later) used the flat-tops. Early SSS 1600 and SSS 1800 used dome-tops. And the other photos shows the later flat-tops (emission carbs) with triangle butterfly. Link to comment
Ant-dat
UK versions up to early-mid 80's were Hitatchi square/flat tops and use the normal 2 bolt rounded butterfly I'll dig them out today and grab some pictures Link to comment
Ant-dat
here are the pics of the UK versions 180B SSS (810 1979) L18T this set i ran on my L20B for a while, i then changed back to single carb. bluebird SSS (910 1981) L18T the main carbs are the same, there is differnces in the inlet manifold though Link to comment
ggzilla
Nice pics. Thanks. I didn't know UK continued to use these. Japan stopped after 1978 I think. Link to comment
